:( :( :( Badly hurt my M4

Yesterday wasn't a pleasant day, and these pictures make me want to cry

Had an incident, was not paying attention, noticed i was at a roundabout too late tried turned into it so front left wheel smashed at an angle.

Luckily I am fine and no one else was anywhere near ...

One thing I have always preached is concentrate when driving now I had that lapse and done this...

Drive safe folks

Super sorry to hear. I think we’ve all found ourselves distracted at times and I personally beat myself up when it happens.

Keep us apprised on the repairs. I’m sure it’s more than fixable in short order.

sorry to see. from the limited pictures I'd say at the very least new wheel/tire, steering column, sway bar end link, spring/strut, lower control arm, possibly bumper if not repairable and maybe more on closer inspection. how was the other side of the axel?

I actually like them - 4 way stops are so inefficient in many places, especially low traffic areas causing unnecessary stops. When I was in europe I thoroughly didn't mind all the roundabouts - except maybe the one in Paris driving around Champ Elysee Arc de Triomphe when that roundabout was like 8 lanes wide, peak traffic hour, and in the rain.

To OP: things happen, you live and you learn. Hope you bounce back soon

Cars are replaceable/ fixable glad your okay op. Personally the car seems like it could be easily fixed with some suspension components and a new bumper.

Really, really sorry to see your M like that. Glad it wasn't worse. Your forthrightness in this day and age is commendable. Hope you get it all resolved quicker and better than you could have imagined. Try not to beat yourself up. Bless.

thanks to all well wishes guys...

I will share the update on repair once I receive from Insurance company. Currently just at their approved garage being assessed.

Again, appreciate all the well wishes, and as many mentioned...yes it could have been a lot worse, so counting lucky stars in some ways too.

Proper roundabouts with soft edges that lets your tire go up in it if you turn too sharp or don’t pay attention is pretty neat. These sharp edge concrete ones are a bane of rims existence because they’ll fuck your wheels up if you don’t do a wide turn.

Hang in there and don't beat yourself up too much. It's easy to get distracted these days. Just be glad your OK. Cars are always repairable or replaceable. Make sure you send it to a reputable shop. Good luck with everything.

I lived in Dubai for several years. They took round abouts to another level. Two highways meet at a 6 lane roundabout. I saw so many accidents it wasn't even funny. My coworkers Ferrari 360 Modena got swiped by a truck turning right from the fourth lane from the right. Keep in mind people are going like 50 mph doing all this. With all that land in the desert you would think they would have heard of an overpass.

Does this explain all those desert drifting videos on YouTube?
