High Mileage M3/M4

Hello everyone, thinking about possibly purchasing a pre owned M3/M4. However, most of the vehicles available have about 50-60k miles. I hear a lot of people talk about crank hub issues. Is this a real concern ? Any other major issues ? All advice is appreciated.

I would guess you’re safe. I have a tuned 2019 M4 with nearly 145,000 miles. I drive this beast hard and it has had no major issues and occasionally go 2-4K over the recommended oil change interval. I’m stock except the tune. These cars are solid.

Thank you for the response. Yeah, I've read a lot of good things. It's scary to not know how the previous owner took care of it

Have you considered doing a PPI? Once you find a car you think you're ready to commit to, paying a small fee for an inspection may help provide some peace of mind. If you happen to find a private seller with service records, that would be nice too.

I love hearing stories like yours (high mileage, no issues)!

That sounds like a good idea. I'll keep browsing and definitely consider that.
