Cruise Control and M Modes
So I've been trying to find an answer to this and it's rather difficult as even the manual doesn't really talk about it.
When in a driving mode (M1 or M2) and you turn on Cruise Control I noticed that all the lights for MDM and DSC turn off. My question is does the predefined settings for your M modes retain once you turn off Cruise Control or disengage it or do you have to push the M1 or M2 buttons again to enter those settings? I don't understand why settings wouldn't just go back to what they were prior to engaging Cruise Control once you turn it off.

Where do they turn off? I have never seen this behaviour when I get in the car I hit the Cruise Button and one of the M buttons and drive away I haven't noticed any lights turning on or off during this time

When your in M1/M2 any electronic change in controls or management shuts the lights off because you technically have left that mode. Experiment with it and you will learn its behavior...example.
If your in M1 and you decide you want to change steering from sport to sport+, hit the steering button to change and your M light will go out. If your in M1 and you want to increase your shift config from lets say S2 to S3, hit the shift button and your M light will go out. The light stays on only as long as your in that config without any changes.... Additionally M1/M2 was not designed to have "commute mode" on while using it Last get your manual and read thru the full section on M modes.... Oh and did you know if your in cruise set at lest say 70mph and you go into an overpass turn and the car senses there is a concern or that you might be going too fast for the condition it will auto flow down the cruise speed until you complete the turn.
