I know this has been brought up before but it's worth mentioning again. The difference in the launch control/full boost/1 foot rollout and real-world 5-60 times are major with the S58. So even if the G8x sprints to 60 in 3 flat, the 5-60 will most likely result in over 4s.

The X3M’s redline is set to ~7200. Looks to be the same on the G8X based on the tach below

These references to 7500 RPM in the technical document must be the rev limiter. The S58's stroke is 0.4 mm longer than the S55 (89.6 vs 90 mm), so it would make sense to have a similar redline and limiter.

Edit: If true for the ZF8, it's yet another reason for me to dislike this generation. What appears to be a really well-built engine with forged internals is hamstrung because of the second-rate transmission.

Agreed, he’s wrong, the reason there isn’t a lot of activity is not only because of the bannings, but worse for BMW, people don’t like it/don’t care enough anymore to even talk about it and have moved on. Just not why this cheerleader thinks.

Not distributing the car for positive feedback, tests, reviews to drum up interest and shift the narrative (at least some) was an interesting business decision back in December, alarming now.

My thoughts exactly. It doesn't take much to see that the G80/G82 are almost universally laughed at because of its looks and horrible marketing campaign.

People will honestly believe anything if it gives the G80/G82 some positivity. If you like the car, great! All of us in this thread and the rest of the internet don't and will continue to make fun of it.

Agreed and has been said here many times before, other cars/even BMWs own M2 CS have been given to the press for reviews/comparisons. Still absent from what I can tell, the G80s.

Wasn't the F8x forum side far more active when the car was first announced?

This is definitely not a good look for BMW and they don't seem to realize it yet. Wonder how long they will be oblivious to it.
