The elegant fueling solution we've been waiting for. No more PI fueling, no more PI controllers, no additional 6 injectors...the first of a few different brands of upgraded HPFP's for the S55 is now available...XDI & Dorch & Nostrum being the other brands. Just wanted to share as we've been waiting for a HPFP release for years.
Edit: Recent developments indicate injectors will be needed as well for a well rounded & long-term/reliable fueling package. The injectors are the BMW M5's EU5 injectors, specifically.

Please do yourself the favor of researching this product on a N54 fourm site. Might make you think twice on it. Could be great but i know the "solution" they made for the 335i had its fair share of issues.

Looked into what you referenced and it seems as if that was n54 fuel system specific, as the whole n54 HPFP system is a little dicey.
On price, yeah it’s a grand over PI I believe, but we have two fuel pumps so the cost will clearly be double of a single HPFP car/engine. For what it’s worth, I do plan to wait for the XDI kit! |

Nothing yet, neither system is out in the wild, that I know of. Until we have some cars using them, we just don't know. Don't forget we'll also need BM3 or some other tuning suite, to support the pump.

BM3 added a nice easy toggle for Spool pumps recently so if you switch to these pumps you can just change it easily and run it even on the stock map. To make power gains with it though best to get a custom map for what you need from your setup.

With a custom tuning, do you think that they would provide substantial gains on pump gas(93) as well? My car is at 70k miles and I was thinking soon I may need to change the HPFPs anyways so maybe I will go ahead with these upgraded ones...also, in the power equation I wonder if the first constraint would be the injectors or the pumps.

From reading on the forums it seems that running E85 with Aftermarket Turbos can max out the fuel system. The underlying issue is that it's easier to release energy from Alcohol versus Petrol since the molecules are smaller, so you need more fuel and air to get the job done. That's when guys start adding Methanol via bungs or PI to add more fuel. Hopefully running aftermarket HPFPs and injectors will allow the fuel system to "keep up" with the aftermarket turbos. I saw that F80Paul has a setup to run straight Methanol for fueling using the OEM fuel system plus adders (bungs/PI). With aftermarket HPFPs it should be possible to get much more fueling via the (highly accurate) direct injectors before we need to add bungs/PI. This is just the fueling aspect. Some may still want bungs for cooling the charge air.
