Anyone else get banned from the G8X section for making fun of its looks?

Back to making fun of its looks. Passed by a dealer and they had two out front parked next to each other. One white Sport-Line model and one Blue M-Sport with Shadow-Line trim. This is the first time I find the M-Sport trim to be worse visually. The shadow-line trim does not save this car despite everyone's excuses saying to get it blacked out.

The shadowline trim only works with dark colors (black, grey etc.) in making the grille less obnoxious. In any other color, it doesn't quite work.

We talked about this a while back about how these influencers work. Joe A. was fawning about the G8x, literally swooning over the car in his release video. It was so surreal to me, watching him do that.

I unsubbed him right after that. Used to think he was ok, but now realize that he's not objective but just a marketing shill.

Agree, lipstick on a very ugly pig at that. Even on a dark color its a fail because it doesn't black out the "diamond pattern" which then sticks out like a sore thumb. Either way, design is awful and looks like an a** for a face, just sad.

He's probably a blind follower, and will buy one regardless. I have never found him to be that good, in fact for a youtuber with a steady amount of views he can't seem to handle criticism well, something you would think a youtube of his caliber should since he's on the internet. I said I wasn't a fan of him on a post and asked others if they felt the same on a thread here on BP and he jumped on his account which he hadn't posted on in years to say I was a "jealous hater" and a horrible person on the internet. Seriously, as if he hasn't received worse comments.

Totally agree, and for those who lease or buy it, time to take out your black sharpies to remove that chrome . Money says that there will be aftermarket replacement grills soon enough for the 4! I will not pay $70k for a car that looks like that.

I only found him when I was looking for reviews of the F8x. I expect he'll pop up anytime now to call me a hater too

This is actually an acid test for all of us here to see which of the youtubers we follow are actually objective.

I agree that China is the focus, but this doesn’t even prove it is working in China. Us and Europe have been hit much harder by COVID. We will get the real picture (hopefully) comparing 2021 to 2019.

Seriously. What's there to like about the car? Let's be honest here. The only thing great about the car are the CF seats and those are a $4k option in Canada. The M drive will be nice to see but it's not available yet. I cringe every time I see that dash.

I have a sneaking suspicion that those seats are going to kind of suck. That part that protrudes in front is going to hurt getting in and out. But I've never sat in them, so what do I know.

That and depending on what you're wearing, may end up scratching and marking it up as well. Visually it looks cool, but functionally, what does that hump really do? Is that a racing inspired design?

Not for nothing but I was on the freeway earlier today and I thought I saw a modded F80 a little ways in front of me. When I caught up to it it ended up being a lowered TRD Camry with wheels.

Just goes to show how aggressive looking econoboxes are getting.

Why not, it probably more reliable then any BMW you own. I have a 2010 Dally with 187k , no issues just oil and tires changes.

Seeing this thread and stuff legitimately makes me sad.

In a few years, I don't see myself having a BMW for the first time since I have gotten into the car culture. While my group of friends would probably forgive me for that but the thought of it is a bit depressing.
