I put on about 1k and here is my opinion:
They don't have the initial bite the stock pads have, but are smooth and consistent.
They are quieter at low speeds when creeping through the drive through.
The wheels are cleaner 2 weeks after driving, then 2 days with the stock pads.

In conclusion... I feel like I get 90% of the brake feel with 10% of the dust over the stock pads.

I don't track the car, but drive it pretty hard, mostly urban city.
Thanks for sharing. I think I will move forward with these pads.

Another vote for the Euro Akebonos. Recently put silver wheels on my car so needed a low dust pad. These do the trick. Feel similar enough to the OEM that you're unlikely to notice the difference daily driving. Only thing I notice is that at very low parking lot speeds, a slight touch of the pedal will grab harder than I would expect...takes a little adjusting of your foot pressure to avoid jerking.

I felt a huge difference in braking power going from Euro Akebonos to Ferodo DS1.11 fronts and DS2500 rears. The Akebonos have terrible braking bite even for daily driving. The DS1.11 fronts and DS2500 rears bite extremely hard at all temperatures. Absolutely love them. The only downsides are that they dust like OEM and are quite noisy when braking hard.

Strange, I find the bite of the Akebonos to be like stock pads and maybe 60% less dust. I upgraded from stock pads to Akebono pads with new rotors.

Those race pads cost much more than Akebonos as well as dusts more as you mentioned.

The Akebonos feels wooden compared to the DS1.11 fronts and DS2500 rears.

Akebonos has perhaps about 80% of the initial bite of genuine pads though. But compared to DS1.11 and DS2500s, there is no contest. The Ferodos bites substantially harder than genuine (i think DS2500s all round even bites slightly harder than genuine) and dusts about the same as genuine. I believe the trade off of same dust for increased bite and braking performance is worth the additional price.

Yeah, we all know that track pads bite better than street pads and that you get more dust, but that's not the point of this thread.

OP was asking about low dust street pads and the Euro Akebonos are just that, as has been confirmed by many people here who run them.

YMMV.

Another +1 for the Akebono's. I put them on a few hundred miles ago and like them, and they dust significantly less.

They definitely have way less initial bite compared to the stock pads, but I like the more linear feel for street driving anyways so it doesn't bother me.

+1 for Akebono pads. I swapped out the OEM ones after three months due to the quick buildup of brake dust.

If you're mostly street driving then the Akebonos are perfectly fine. They do feel a little less bitey but barely. Definitely worth the trade off vs having to clean your wheels every week to look fresh when you go out

I just installed the Akebono pads today and just came back from the bedding procedure.

So far, significantly less dust. I would say dust has been reduced by 80%. Initial bite, like others have mentioned, is less than OEM.

However, after about 10 hard stops from 60 down to 20 back to back, these pads lose their composure. I don't remember how the stock pads handled my bed in procedure, but I don't recall them fading this bad. Regardless, this point is moot since these are street pads. However if you are doing some AutoX or any kind of track driving, definitely stick with a proven race pad.

Had the same experience when bedding mine in. They made a moaning noise after about 10 hard stops and then faded a lot. Felt like I had no brakes. But in real life this torture test is unlikely. Don't use these at a track. Use them in the street for less dust. For the last 2k or so I've had them on they've been fantastic.
