Possibly an inch or so extra? Those new one piece seats looks pretty thin in side profile minus the side bolsters.

Do they still come with lifetime roadside assistance like my E46?

Removing the intake manifold to get to the valves, then walnut blasting the built up oil off of them. I've seen prices anywhere between $400-$800 for the job, just depends on the shop.

Do they rotate the crank so that each set of valves is closed or something?

That is actually how the E9X M3 is laid out... I find it is better, because you have more granularity in range that you use the most.

Thoughts on that aspect of maintenance for the S55?
I had my intake valves walnut blasted at around the 60k mark. Here's what they looked like before and after:

Wow looks thick. Are you running Shell V-Power, or....... ?

Very beautiful lines. I like the new M3 despite the fact that it's a 4door sedan. Does anyone know if they will make a coupe version?

Thanks

If you're being serious, the M4 is the new coupe.

Nope, zero mention of it anywhere from BMW. I think that seals the deal and I'm glad it does not have such a "feature".

I don't want to keep getting off topic with those engines but yes the problem was due to engine harmonics.

well, BMW provided more granularity in the E9X. On the Audi, the number of degrees sweep decreases as you go up the speedometer... i gues to give the perception that the rate of acceleration does not decrease as you go faster.

Same as on the E9X M3, the degrees swept are also smaller at higher speeds. The main difference is that the transition is sharp at 120km/h on the M3 instead of being progressive like on the Audi gauges.

It actually is the opposite, it just slows down the needle more at higher speeds...

I still think that it is mainly to provide more precision in the "useful" portion of the speedo.

I'm guessing from the seat perforation that BMW is either including climate controlled seats, or making that a future option. We haven't seen that option in the F30/F32 line yet.

Tech spec of e90 m3

So the new M3 is 0.6sec quicker from 0-100km/h(62miles/h)

It takes e90 in 4th gear 5.1sec 80-120km/h
It takes f80 in 4th gear 3.5sec 80-120km/h

F80 burns about 30% less fuel city/highway

F80 max hp(431) between 5500-7300rpm, max tq between 1850-550rpm
E90 max hp(420) at 8300rpm, max tq at 3900rpm

This is just a guess, but the perforations are not in a good location for ventilation. You would want the ventilation around the butt and lower back (not in between the legs close to the knees and only the upper back)

I bet that it is just a style design choice (but I hope that I'm wrong because I would like a seat vent option and if it's for design, it looks bad to me).
