295/35/19 vs 305/30/19 Michelin PS4S

Hey guys many of you like me are probably deciding between 295/35/19 tires and 305/30/19. It seems like it wouldn't make much difference or feel much different, but that can't be farther from the truth. The grip levels are increased, ride has gotten even more compliant and there is ZERO rub. I paid the additional and I think knowing what I know now, I would've gone 305/30/19 from the beginning! I hope this helps the community and shows you how millimeters can change the look of the car overall. Let me know if you have any questions.

I ran into this same issue, and the dramatic difference between the two sizes is specific to the PS4S. The 295/35/19 is a Mercedes-spec tire with a tread width of only 9.8". Compare to the previous generation Pilot Super Sport, for example, whose 295/35/19 had a tread width of 10.4", or the 295/35/19, Continental SportContact 6, which with its 11.6" tread width is even wider than the 305/30/19 PS4S at 11.5"!

Nice looking car!

It’s funny so many on Facebook claim it’s all placebo. And I tell them I know there is a difference lol. But tough crowd, but it really is worth the size upgrade for better feel and grip. I noticed on Tire Rack that the Continental SportContact6 was wider, but everyone that has tried them say they don’t grip well. Who knows, maybe I’ll try it next time. But so far loving the PS4S!

This picture- wow, that best describes it. Any more pics from straight behind?
Any suspension/spacers?

Interesting you say that. I had PS4S installed about a month ago. Rear: 295/35/19 And 265/35/19 Up front. I know the tire says "295" it dosen't have the "wow" factor I was waiting for, It's like a 275 stretched as far as possible.

Do the 305's fit stock 19"? (Non comp) I am also running KW Has and 12mm x 4 .. This makes so much sense. I need this now
Nice looking car!

I’ve seen people run a 305/30/19 it’s just at the very limit some would say for the tire. But it’s not horrible haha. You will definitely get more, let’s call it tire bulge. As for ride height you may need to come up depending on how low you are. Or a very simple alignment should do the trick. The spacers may need to be removed I would check the forums. Many have done it. But yes simple few mm makes a huge difference in looks IMO. Again only crazy people like us would notice haha! Glad this helped out .

I am runnning zero spacers. The wheels are 19x9.5"F et20 and 19x11"R et40. The car was on Swift Springs and I had it about 95% to my liking. But every time I had packed car or jarring bumps, the car didn't tolerate it well. And I have the latest and by far the best feeling, the CS EDC coding. I now switched to Eibach V1 Euro springs and I love the look and the ride. Nothing against Swift, just wish I went Eibach V1 Euro from the get go. Other than that stock suspension (EDC). Hope these pictures help!

Thats the look I'm going for, a tire that fills the wheel-well and is fitted properly. You get it lol. I'll go this route when I need new rear tires. That'll be the "finishing touch"

I totally get what you mean man! I think we have our own definition of what a "meaty" tire is haha. But it will definitely complete the look, and it will make your car look more aggressive. Happy this helped

Mannnn if people dont stop being scared to run a 305/30/19 tire. My rear is slightly tucked and I can still add a small spacer!

Wheel: BBS FI-R 19x10.5 +35
Tire: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 305/35/19
Rear Alignment: -1.8 camber and .10 toe on each corner

Excellent once they have some heat in them...These will be my tire of choice during the warm months.

I have to agree our inner fenders are no joke! I am going to even possibly try a 325/30/19 with more than stock negative camber. We will see how that goes, but I still have some time before I burn through these haha. BTW car is lookin good brotha

Nice wouldn't mind a set for the track. I would daily with them, but Illinois is wayyyy to unpredictable with weather lol.

How did this setup age for you over time? Any rubbing? I'm about to run the same ps4s tire combo on a set of BBS LMs 19*9.5 et22 and 19*11 et37. I'll also be running Ohlins R&T coilovers. Currently the car is on swift spec R springs and OE ZHP tire/wheels but I've never been super happy with the ride.
