Did you change both front and rear to V1 springs? Please send pic. They will def go lower a bit after settling.

Car looks great with the Eibach V1s! That's exactly what I'm looking for, but why is it some people complain the rear goes up and for some its perfect? Also, how do the Eibach V1 handle larger bumps? Does the car ever getting jarring? I'm lowered on Swift now and the ride is perfect 90% of the time, but for larger bumps and things like that I am not as happy with the ride or stiffness. Thanks for any help!

What's even more confusing is that this guy put V2 springs on the front only and the wheel gap on the front looks the same as the V1 drop listed in this thread by OP. Maybe OP you got a bad set of V2 springs with different specs?

it's all the angle of the photo. My v1s look much lower in person. the lighting is the photo makes a big difference in the gap as well.

Did you need the spring compression tool or is it just unbolting and bolting stuff back? I remember on the E46 M3 it was a PITA.

I didn't use any spring compressor to do the install. The F8x and E9x M3's are some of the easiest spring swaps I've ever done.

I wish you lived near me! I had one shop quote me $1700 to install just the fronts, and that's if I supply the springs. Another shop quoted $1400 for all 4, again, if I supply the springs.

I've had lowering springs/coilovers installed on a few previous cars and this is the most outrageous install pricing I've ever experienced. It's enough to prevent me from bothering with it.

Those ^^^ prices are simply absurd. It took me about 3 hours with no lift and I had to reposition the car for every corner because of limited space. This was also the first time doing anything on an F80 so I wasn't familiar with it. A shop with a lift could do it in an hour or so. There are 3 nuts/ bolts to remove at the front and only 2 in the rear. $1700

If you were closer I'd help you out

That's called a "go away" quote, they don't want to do the work, for whatever reason, so they throw some ridiculous number out there. Could be that they're backed up, or unfamiliar with M cars, etc.

Very likely. It wasn't a quote any sane person would even take under consideration, unless they simply had absolutely no idea what fair pricing for something like this would be.

I've been getting recommendations for other good shops around my area. Hoping to get a few more quotes this week then order the springs.

A couple of questions...

1) Do you have a link to where you ordered the V1 Euospec springs from?

2) Do you have a particular install guide that you followed? I'm not hesitant to do a spring install, as I've done it myself on a few cars. And hearing that I don't even need to bother with a spring compressor is amazing, since that's always the worst part.

The reason I have been planning on paying a shop to do it is because in the DIY tutorials I've seen, they all seem to make it sound much more labor intensive than you've indicated. Like this one...

Thanks to your recommendation, I ended up ordering some Eibach v1's (E10-20-031-09-22). They should be here early next week with install set for next Thursday.

That's what I did. Fronts only. Very happy with how it turned out.

Is there anything that can go wrong of affect long term wear/tear if o choose to lower just the front? I also feel like rear is good enough.

More scraping or so because of the increased rake? Not really I guess?

It's not an aggressive drop anyway but the handling characteristics can change because of the increased rake, more weight is moved to the front this way.

Thanks. I'm still deciding, maybe I'll install front and rear and stop overthinking about it.

I drove around with the zcp rear and eibach v1 front for about a month. I like how it drove in all modes (C, S, S+). Still feels like how a sports car should. But, the rake looked weird to me.

Just installed the eibach v1 rear last week (looks much better since it leveled out)... the drive def feels softer in a good way. I feel like the sport mode feels like a notch between comfort and sport... the ZCP springs is def stiffer ride than eibach V1. Im not sure if I like the softer ride with the V1 though... I love the look, but I find in comfort is just to soft and prefer to drive around in sports mode. I guess comfort is now "wife mode" whereas, comfort was to jarring for her with ZCP. Will see how this plays out it the coming months.

No problems whatsoever. Look at all the crazy shit people do with full coilovers. EVERYONE over-lowers the front vs. the rears to get that rake. They try to match front and rear wheel gap, which typically means they lower the front a good inch more than they lower the rears.

Nobody is spinning out of control driving their improperly lowered cars and, frankly, none of us are that good of a driver to even be able to notice the slight difference in handling balance.

Very informative thread. I think I'll be going with the Eibach V1 springs when I decide to lower my car.

The drop looks perfect... Very very balanced from front to back.

It's appears you will not have any issues around town or daily driving what so ever.

Keep us posted on the long term drivability and if you face any issues.
