437 with Pirelli PZero Run Flats information thread

Making this thread to share my experience with Pirelli run flats to hopefully help someone in the future avoid my headache.

I purchased my M4 used over the summer and had no idea that we weren't supposed to have run flats in our cars and the tires were stretched in the rear.

No TPMS light on during my drive home but it came on the next day.

The front tires were fine 255/35/19
But the rears were stretched 275/35/19

Sorry that I don't have the good angle pic (can update later since I still have the wheels) but the top pic is the Pirelli and the bottom is the same width Michelin that I took on another M4 I saw. Not sure if you can tell but the bottom is much meatier than the top

Both my dealer and BMW were able to successfully mount and balance the rear tires and inflate to 32 psi. I found it odd that BMW never mentioned that I wasn't supposed to get run flats as I could have used the opportunity to switch to Michelins at least for the rears instead of them charging for another run flat to solve the issue.

The TPMS came on a week after BMW Installed the tire and after inflating to 34 psi, I watched the pressure go down a little each day.

I took the car back to BMW and they just said I had a bent rim which wasn't true.

The next step was me taking my car back to the original dealer (70 miles away) where they gave me videos showing the leakage and that the wheel wasn't bent

The dealer advised that I should get a wider tire when these wear out but I didn't see a 285/35/19 Pirelli PZero run flat when I searched and I honestly don't love the idea of paying so much for run flats that I hate anyways.

Interesting enough, both BMW and the dealer inflated my rears to 40 psi and I had no loss of pressure for days but I would start losing air when I took it back to the recommended 32 psi.

I'm sorry for the rambling but im trying to get my thoughts out while explaining that Pirelli Pzeros and 437Ms aren't matched made in heaven in my opinion.
The fronts were always fine but both rears were issues for me.

Thanks and I know that. The point is to help others not deal with what I dealt with.
