Text messages not showing in iDrive

I got a 2019 M4 comp, iPhone 6 hooked up via Bluetooth but notice when I get a txt message it’s not showing up in idrive display. Spoken to M tech and I didn’t have something on in my message settings on the phone. One this was done can see txt messages in idrive. Now for some reason I cannot see txt messages again, I checked my settings all look good can’t figure out why it’s stopped showing, any idea anyone?

Are you using apple car play? Since I started using car play, my texts don't show up under notification actions, in idrive.

CarPlay is not designed to show text messages.

No, what I meant was, If you aren't using car play, you can hit the button on your phone that will allow Text messages. You have enable "show notifications". If you have enabled car play, that option is no longer available. Thus idrive will not show messages under notifications. It will show that HAVE messages in car play

CarPlay connects to the iDrive via WiFi, not via Bluetooth. “Show Notifications” will not show as there is no Bluetooth connection.

No am not using apple car but resolved problem with advice from another forum user. Go to settings/Bluetooth/my devices/ BMW***** and touch on the info icon. There you’ll see show notifications and sync contacts just activate and then get someone to send you a txt and you’ll see txt messages in notification in the display.
