Front brake rotors cleaning

After replacing my rear brake discs because of brake vibrations resulting from a bad repair / service from dealer, it was time to clean the front ones because when can clearly see a big difference in color between the front and the rear. I used a metallic brush and a drill to do it, 15 minutes for each side.

How do they look now, I would like to do something similar but my concern is that you scrubbed all the rust preventative coating off and now its just bare metal. Looks like the OEM rust preventaive is a phosphate or GEOMET.

Curious what do they look like now?

I don't think there is a rust preventative, the rotor hat is aluminum. Looks like typical aluminum oxide.

Wire wheel looks decent, would love to grit blast mine.

You can paint them with a cleat coat designed to support high temperatures if you want to keep them clean for much more longer period of time. After 6 months, my rotor still relatively clean, but no rust at all. I will clean them slightly with my next winter/summer swapping wheels and tires

I’ve been thinking about spraying mine with some high temp matte black might look good!
