I got it on both of my E46's because of the S54 engine issues. My early adopter '03 M3's engine blew while on the freeway. BMW gave me a loaner 5 for nearly 2 months while they replaced the engine.

Pet peeve: an internal combustion device is an engine. An electric device is a motor. They are not synonyms. Please do not encourage our future electric propulsion overlords to advance any faster than necessary.

Parts flood has begun! For now I just bought a very lightly used steering wheel. If it's in as good a condition as it looks in the pics, I'll run it for awhile. If not, I'll send off a core to COBY wheel and have him make a nice V2 sort of look alike (I had him make one before on my first M4 and it looked great). I got a smoking deal on ebay for a wheel with 5k miles on it for $120 simply couldn't pass it up. The seller is also throwing in the ebrake handle and armrest he also replaced at 5k miles for free, super nice guy who just wants to get rid of the parts so I lucked out there.

Also ordered the VLAND V2 tails in red (don't like smoked), along with some carbon/titanium exhaust tips. Working on a Vorsteiner carbon diffuser now, with side skirts and front lip soon to come. I was planning on buying knockoff carbon parts to save some money, but I have to do the car justice so I'll look for some decent used parts first. I'm going to do my best to hold off on KW V3s due to cost, but I know how much they transform these cars so I think fighting that off is a losing battle.

I'll likely run the stock wheels until the tires get farther down. These have always been my favorite stock BMW wheels, and the tires on the car look nearly new so I'll likely wait just a bit unless I see some deal I cannot refuse on the forums.

The goal with this car is to put it together as nice and as cheaply as possible.

Am I the only one that dislikes the G8X prolapse rear bumper AND the GT3's prolapse rear bumper?!? The previous GT3 looked so much better.

I agree, I don't like it either. In fairness, the shape is aerodynamic - those air ducts from the wheel well are functional, and I could see how the bottom part needs to jut out to accommodate the large diffuser.

At this stage in its evolution, the GT3 has to innovate on aero to stay ahead and set new 'Ring times. So owners have to live with features we might not like - besides the rear I don't like the nostrils on the hood, but that's also necessary for the same reason (although why couldn't they have found a more pleasing package like the M4 GTS)

Nope you aren’t the only one - I actually think the 991 GT3 (.1 and .2) look much better than the 992 GT3. Much cleaner design, better front fascia and rear bumper. I love the 992 proportions, but I generally think the 991 is a better looking car in totality and will age really beautifully. 992 is still a stunner just that 991 is the hotter older sister that doesn’t squat (or lift) as much. And I strongly prefer fit chicks so that’s not an easy statement for me to make

991.2 FTW. The rear of the GT3 looks good IRL, though, but the front bumper treatment is awkward. Tourings with the mouth painted in a brighter shade of colour look like a fish.

Porsche's started using too much black plastic on their cars. The new Macan front end is "literally" 80% matte black plastic.

Not only did this man went back to the F8x gen, he even fell in love with the way the sedan looks. Love too see it.

I refuse to buy ebay carbon. Got my M Performance parts second-hand rather.

110%. The prior gen GT3 was absolutely flawless and much better looking than new model.

Amazingly, used are going for more than new around here. They will likely get close to it I bet.

Don’t ask me, it’s nuts out there.

Nice find! I found it funny that BMW, a company that produces automobiles, literally uses "motor" for the second letter in the name of the company, but he choose to pick at my use of the word motor instead of engine.

I also don't make half a million dollars a year and I'm buying a $140k car, so according to him anybody who doesn't meet that minimum earning criteria should get their head(s) checked and speak with a financial consultant. We still like him though.
