Awesome, I love the older brochures and press kit, I have tons of memories of going to the dealers and just checking out brochures, so much nostalgia!

I do too. I used to go to dealerships while I was in high school and gather the brochure(s) from my favorite vehicle(s). I would take the brochures home and daydream about ownership.

GT4 update!

Currently sitting at 232 miles. I have mainly driven at night to avoid traffic, eyes and just bad drivers in general.

So, the shifting thing I was complaining about before, I may have misspoken but there does seem to be some behaviors that is different than the M-DCT. I absolutely have to wait until the tranny has warmed up because it definitely feels better and far smoother when I self shift after it has warmed up. The times when it felt instantaneous has been mainly on higher gears, higher RPMs and when I am, well gunning it honestly. I don't know if the PDK-S can "detect" if you are freeway/track driving or not but compared to when I am just driving about on regular roads, it just feels different.

I am getting used to the suspension. It is definitely stiffer but it isn't anything that is so rough I cannot handle it.

The droning, I have not heard the obvious drone I have heard the first time but I do hear that frequency at around 2k RPM. As if it is... almost happening but it didn't trigger. I honestly have no clue what it is but keeping Auto Start & Stop (turning off cylinder deactivation) off with Exhaust Button pressed seem to deter that loud and obvious drone.

Getting close to 300 total miles, so I can push it to 5,500k RPM. Hearing the car at 5k is already so intoxicating.

stein_325i I still like going to dealerships. It is more fun for me in person. Minus the douchebag sales people you tend to have to deal with from time to time I mean.

Funny you post this, during the holiday break I did some cleaning up and found tons of old BMW brochures. They were indeed very well made and brought back fond memories. I however decided to do the same as BMW did, and just throw history in the garbage.

4 months on the lot and this X3 M still hasn't sold, even in a market of short supply. I wonder why…

You know what's crazy. I saw one with the red interior at one of my local dealers. He was grabbing some parts.

Can we just appreciate how much better the pre-LCI right next to it looks? I don't get why BMW is pushing this crab mandible motif on their M and Msport front fascias

Special shoutout to this lad taking his diesel Alpina estate sideways in the Dolomites. Such roads in slippery conditions can be fun in basically anything rear-drive. I've driven this mountain pass in the summer, so I can only imagine how much more fun it would be in the snow.

I agree. I find driving a performance oriented car in the snow to be a very enjoyable activity. This is the main reason I drive my cars through all 4 seasons. Plus it gets me to further learn the at the limit handling dynamics of my cars at much lower and safer speed, which helps for the track season. I took the 992 for a spin tonight (we just had a rather hefty snow fall) and had a total blast. The AWD on the 992TT is very well tuned. With PSM off, it mimics all the desirable behaviours of RWD really well. The video below shows off quite well what it can do (sorry, you’ll have to watch it directly on Youtube):

Damn, it honestly feels like the video is at 2x speed, that's how impressive his skills look.

I'm sorry, but how in the world one could look at the new design language compared to the more classic language in the F87 and think "yeah, this is an upgrade" is beyond me.

The older car definitely looks better, especially when juxtaposed against the new car. In isolation, however, the new car doesn't look half bad IMHO.

Fair point on the second sentence. I've looked at the M240 pictures by itself, and especially in the purple color, and have thought that's not too bad.

I just wish we could of had all of the stuff that's supposed to come with the new M2 (carbon roof, new carbon seats from the GX, and hopefully less de-contenting than we saw with the F87 vs the F80/82) but with the clean and classic BMW design. Like, what if we had quality content updates, and kept with the styling we have loved for decades? Just a bummer to me.

That’s brutal, how is that signed off on? I think it’s a bigger miss than the G80/82 styling.

What the hell is with BMWs weird ass angled front end intakes/vents/scoops etc?
