Active Autowerke Exhaust Install + Auto Talent Review
Auto Talent
If you’re looking for excellent customer service, Auto Talent is the way to go. I recently went to Auto Talent to get my Active Autowerke exhaust installed. Golan kept me updated throughout the whole process from when we first placed the order for the exhaust up until when I got it installed. He is the man to meet for all your automotive heart desires. Whenever I had questions/concerns, even after work hours, Golan would promptly answer it. Auto Talent truly is a shop that focuses on their customers as they always made time for me no matter how late it was (Golan even stayed after work hours at the shop just to wait for me to finish)! They offer one of the best prices around for all your automotive needs and installation. I definitely recommend anyone looking for aftermarket parts/services to head their way to Auto Talent if you are located in the greater Los Angeles area. I will definitely be going there again for anything I need! Active Autowerke Exhaust I’ve waited anxiously for months for this exhaust to be released based on the videos and phenomenal work Active Autowerke does. This is my first product from them, and it did not disappoint (besides some minor fitment issues). Currently, there is some rattling occurring possibly around the midpipe area (I’m not exactly sure yet). The exhaust tips are also sitting a bit too close to the diffuser. I will be going back to Auto Talent to get everything realigned/readjusted. Installing this exhaust is no easy feat; there is a ton of adjustability, making it difficult to align perfectly. The AA exhaust is definitely one of the best sounding exhaust I’ve heard, and I’ve heard them all (iPE, MPE, AWE Resonated and Non Resonated, Akrapovic, and Eisenmann). I actually owned the MPE prior to this exhaust. First, start-up with this exhaust is beast. There’s a very deep, bassy rumble. This exhaust, unlike many others, does not have that raspy/metallic/hollownote. It’s tamed, yet brutal when you want it to be. There is zero rasp whatsoever. The exhaust sounds so smooth and has a nice growl/purr to it during regular driving. There is very slight drone, but nothing too bothersome. I definitely noticed a throttle response improvement upon installing this exhaust (must be from that magical fat pipe), which is a plus as I was not expecting any performance gains whatsoever. AA’s exhaust looks to be top notch in terms of quality of material and welds. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an aftermarket exhaust. UPDATE: Exhaust fitment issue is now fixed. It fits on perfectly now. It just required some readjustments. I love this exhaust! Here's a video of the AA exhaust + Akrapovic downpipes: Last edited by jayyp; 09-15-2015 at 09:57 PM.. |

I can only imagine, I almost sold my AWE to pick up one of these AA exhausts. Who knows, if I hear it in person and end up liking it a lot I may do it. Autotalent is definitely a shop worth recommending, they do top notch work.

Either I'm blind, or this exhaust is still a "secret"...

Flying under the radar.
Honestly the first time I heard of it. Literally until my BMW Genius told me and showed me the video she took I had 0 clue. But Jayy is right, a lot of the exhausts out there are very screamy or metallic noise. I dislike that, I prefer the deeper tone rumbling. Which I didn't think it was available for F8x until I saw/heard it.

Op,
Glad you like it as much as we do. Concerning questions of the exhaust being secret... We had many issues with the complexity of fitment so we decided to make them in good ole USA (in house). They are now available to order. We can only build a small amount in house per week so they will be shipping in the order they are placed. Please pm me with any questions or to order. This has been in the works for a while now from what I understand. The fact that it's hand made in USA is awesome. I honestly think it's the best sounding exhaust there is.
I think the single 3.5" mid-pipe makes a huge difference. It seems to get rid of the weird gurgle that the S55 has. I did the same thing to my S54. Single 3.5" from headers back and it completely changed the S54 sound to deep and aggressive rather than raspy and tin-y. |

This exhaust has a deeper, bassier rumble than the AWE. I wasn't fully impressed with how the AWE sounds tbh. I was thinking about picking up an AWE until I decided to wait for the AA exhaust. I'm glad I did .

Any more videos?
It's my favorite sounding exhaust for sure. It's just everytime you get right to the camera you let off or have to brake. Has the exhaust "broken in" yet? I know a lot of other systems break in and sound better over time. |
