Will there be a BMW M3 "Edition 30 Jahre M3"?

There are two round birthdays connected to the BMW 3er series and its legendary sports model, the M3 ... 40 years BMW 3er series and 30 years M3.

The 3er series is the most important car in the BMW model range.

Does that mean, that we could expect an worthy M3 Limited Edition "Edition 30 Jahre M3" to celebrate this birthday ???

And whats about an Limited Edition (Package?) "40 Jahre 3er Reihe" based on (for) the regular 3er series !?

This would be very cool if they offered a special edition in conjunction with a ZCP package.

Let's hope so

I am hoping that they do something special for the F8X after hearing about the ZHP. I was a little miffed to hear that they continued to erode the difference between the stock 4 series and the M4 even for a limited run.

I'd be a taker for the aero additions on the M4 if they provided a package.

For the 3 series, they changed the 335i to the 340i in celebration of the 40 years.

For the M3, BMW decided to mark their 30 year M3 anniversary with the release of the long awaited and top secret "velocity enhancing" paint, under development for the past 30 years. Rumor has it that when seen by the naked eye and in the absence of UV protective eye wear, it has been known cause muscle cells and testosterone hormone to multiply uncontrollably and in extreme cases, sudden death by way of overwhelming excitement and erratic firing of the heart muscle.

It's called Austin Yellow for a reason. The "A" in Austin translates perfectly to the number 3 in Aramaic. "Y" is the eternal life symbol, as in infinity or ZERO to us modern westerners, in Egyptian hieroglyphics. A Y = 3 0. Makes COMPLETE sense!

Damn Germans. They plan everything way ahead!

F80 M3"Edition 30 years M3"!?

I´am wondering, why there are no rumors about an planed Edition Model of the F80 M3 to celebrate the this year birthday of the BMW M3.

BMW M makes an nice birthday model of the M5 last year, why not for the M3? Also the 3 series has ist 40th birthday this year.

How such an limited "Edition 30 years M3" could look like?

There are BMW-produced black chrome exhaust tips for the M3 available now for a non-existent ZCP. Maybe they're for the also non-existent 30th anniversary edition

Not in the US.
Our 2016 MY cars are still 335's and 435's.
Though as a 40-year special option, you can now spec out 335's and 435's to cost more than M3/4's!

And if that's not enough, they gave us 335 GT and 435 GC, the latter of which is a 4-door 4-series, that looks like a 3-series, but isn't.

Not true. The 335i is now the 340i everywhere in the world, U.S. included.

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...6&d=1432928737

Furthermore, the 435i is still the 435i everywhere until March 2016 when it will become the the 440i worldwide.

It is the change from 328i to 330i that the U.S. lags behind ROW.

So for MY 16 we have 328i, 340i, 428i, 435i?

I thought we were still getting the 330i for MY 16, just not the new engine (b48)? Well, this isn't confusing at all. :/

As someone mentioned above I thought BMW always updated the larger first then the smaller. Didnt the 330-> 335 one year before the 325->328.

As for the 4 series, I expect it will get the engines when its get its LCI update next year.

No, there is no such rule or established pattern. Both the 328i and 335i arrived for the second model year E90 (and first model year E92).

The 4 Series LCI is not necessarily next year - 1H 2017 is very likely. In any case the 440i is already confirmed for March 2016 (prior to the LCI).

For MY16 (already in production), in the US we have the 320, 328, & 428 w/ the N20, 435 w/ the N55, and 340 w/ the B58. Some have already started taking delivery of US spec 340i's. Next year the 328 and the 428 drop the N20 for the B48 and become the 330 and 430 as well as the 435 also gaining the B58 and changing to 440.
