Hmm... I'm guessing that means they probably can't do the diamond-cut 666M wheels

Going to stick with the standard brushed clear that Signature offers. It’ll look great on tanzanite.

I think that might be a little misleading as he does lots of custom work. See "Wheel Custom Coloring".

You bolded the word before the / but not after ...like a brushed finish

Let me be more direct to remove any confusion. He said they cannot do brushed finishes.

That's because I was only referring to the word before and not after. To clarify, I was referring to custom work and not to finishes as he does a lot of custom work.

Anyone have experience getting their wheels ceramic coated in Austin? I found two places that use Ceramic Pro

1) AI Autoworks (Austin Interior)
2) ATX Detailing

Looking to have my new wheels coated before getting them mounted.

Thanks but I actually ended up doing it myself and used Gyeon Rim (recommended by Jimmy at Signature Wheel). Was easy to apply and much cheaper than paying someone to do it.

Recommendation for tire mounting for a 20" forged wheel? I could take it to Discount but would rather support a local shop if I can (and one with experience mounting tires to forged wheels).

edit: Ended up calling a few high end shops in the area and was referred to Direct Tire. They do all of the wheel/tire work for Calvo Motorsports (high end viper, supra, porsche builds) as well as race track prep. Beauty about them is they come to you. I'll report back with my experience.

All done! They showed up on time, were friendly, reasonably priced, and did great work. Here are some things I learned, or can expand on, after my experience:

1) They don't advertise that they work on high-end, forged wheels. I only found them because I called Calvo. I suggested they add this to their website.
2) While they don't have a 'touchless' mounting machine, they use microfiber towels everywhere and have the experience needed to setup the machine so that it does not touch the wheel or put it in a position that it won't get scratched (see point 3).
3) Everyone on their team has between 5-12 years experience at Discount Tire (ie: they don't just hire anyone).
4) They are mobile and come to you. Very convenient because going to a tire shop for any amount of time is frustrating.
5) They do a lot of track work at COTA.

Based on this experience, I recommend them and would use them again.

Awesome, I didn't know they existed until your post... if you don't mind saying, what's their pricing like? Even if it's twice what Discount charges I'd rather wait at home than stuck at a tire shop with no wifi.

They charged me $140 to mount all tires including tpms.

happy friday.
Took the M3 in for service at BMW Austin and used Alan Solis per your recommendation. Really nice guy and loves cars! We talked about old cars we used to own and modding our current ones. He made it seem like BMW Austin is pretty mod friendly and told me that if I tuned the car, he would take care of me. While I don’t plan on tuning the car, I got the ok that a mid pipe and any kind of exhaust is perfectly fine and won’t void any kind of warranty.

Not sure if the group knows but while they aren’t partnered with the M Gruppe, they do give 15% off parts and labor if you’re a BMW CCA member.

Who has an aftermarket exhaust in Austin? Looking to hear a few before picking something up. Looking at the following:

1) AA mid
2) AA mid plus rear section
3) AA valved exhaust
4) Soul performance valved exhaust
5) Dinan

I will not do down pipes and will not tune the car.

Update: Picked up the full AA exhaust system (non-valved) from someone in Dallas but started out by installing just the AA mid pipe as I didn't want any drone or for it to be obnoxious.

First impressions:
-Almost indistinguishable compared to stock except for a slightly deeper tone. I'm actually surprised how quiet it is. When driving at highway speeds you would never know it had a mid pipe. Under load is when you can tell the slight difference in volume.
-Seems to have a little more low end torque.
-I will probably put on the rear section to see how it sounds together.

Is he at the old or new Austin dealership? May need to pay him a visit
