bootmod3 New Feature Release - Import OTS Maps, learning experience ***

Hey guys,
We've mentioned this feature in the past as something we've been working on adding and it is now available in the editor. OTS maps that we provide as FREE which are basically OEM like calibration data can now be used as really great reference points if you have a desire to learn how to tune on this platform.

In the S55 case you can import the GTS, CS and CSL OTS maps. On the N55 EWG you'll have access to the M2 map and on the S63tu to the Comp Package (600hp) map.

As an example, you can open your Stock Tune first in the editor, do "Save As" to make a copy of it for custom tuning reasons (stock tune itself cannot be edited). Once you create a map, name it as you wish and proceed to the editor to import one of these OTS maps that you find most appropriate/intriguing and go from there. Editor will highlight tables changed in 'red' between your stock and the imported map. If you click on any given 'red' table you can hover on and off the button called 'Original' and see changes in your original (stock) map and if you hover off you'll see the imported changes in bold.

Let us know if any questions at all

Here's a quick vid we put together to demonstrate how its done:

What really means that N55 EWG owners have access to the M2 map? Can a 535i f10 get this map?

Does it mean ppl can load maps from different tuners/brands and compare them? If so there will be no secret in tuning world... Not sure if it's good for some tuners but it's definitely good for customers and learners. Good job guys!

Holy shit that's awesome! Does this essentially mean the worldwide users of bm3 can upload their own personal custom tune maps? As in a cache and a library of other maps to choose from? Vendors be damned but this is sweet for the customer!Nice!

Just to clarify, OTS maps such as stage 1 or stage 2 maps (as well as any other map you've purchased from a vendor/tuner on BM3) will not be editable or view able to import changes unless your tuner has purposely left it unlocked. This update allows specific maps to be "unlocked" in order to edit and import changes from etc as explained in Dzenan's post. These specific maps are as he mentioned, for S55 it's the CS, GTS, and CSL maps.

For those unaware, you always had the ability to create and upload your own custom maps via the editor if you know how to use the editor. However this update/release basically gives you an unlocked version of some maps for you to use as a learning experience when comparing it to your stock tune in order to see and learn what changes are being done to increase power, affect burbles, exhaust valve etc.

Yes what i meant was in a hypothetical situation (not that anybody would do this) another bm3 platform user can upload his custom tune map done by his own tuner. We can see the differences in the values marked in red for their particular map variations on their vehicles. Still awesome!
