sucks that even the govt is getting in on the price gouging. the property tax on my gt3 and m3 went up 30% from the previous year. last few years i keep telling myself i need to register my toys in montana.

Went to local detailing place to see about removing those glossy fender covers from my CS and replacing with xpel. They had this bad boy sitting there, good grief.

Not to mention, he doesn’t state where the numbers are from. Europe and US used sales are different, so I don’t believe it.

It was a gut punch for me with that announcement. While I am not currently in the financial position to purchase one new, I was hoping to be able to do so soon-ish. Definitely I'll never be able to justify an RS price tag to the spousal unit. haha

I have Xpel Stealth on the M3 and it's pretty great. They should be able to help you out - especially if they are dealing with high end machines like that.

One thing they did caution me on however, they said while the chances are low it's a possibility paint could be pulled off when they remove the stock glossy protectors. They told me BMW is usually really good about their paint, whereas companies like Ferrari it's a nightmare to pull the coatings as paint often comes off with the film. However, as luck would have it, there's a forum member in one of the general forums talking about how pulling the same type of covers from his new G80 ripped paint right off the fender. Considering how difficult it is to match FDB2, not to mention the cost and time involved, I'm not really sure I want to roll the dice on this one. Need to think it over. |

Thanks! 54:00 I couldn't agree more, the X5 is the only car BMW is making right now which I think is outstanding. I saw a blue X5M Comp yesterday and it just looks amazing on the road. I like the M8, but even that car for the money is way understated and of course huge.

Concerning the M2 and the embargo soon to be lifted, I have to admit it does look decent in black. I haven't seen it in any other colors I've liked so far, but black is OK. |

I would pick black too. It is not that much lighter or shorter than G80/2. Feedback from a trusted friend, it has better handling than the M3/4 because of the additional grip. The G87 might show up at the dealer as soon as tomorrow.

Posted this in M2 forum but thought I would share here as well - saw the car in person at the UDE event in NJ and overall I really like it!
This one was in the Brooklyn Grey color which helps to show off all the body lines, CF roof, hood dome etc. I also like the new flush door handles. Compared to G8x cars with pig nose - the M2 is a beauty. The overall shape, body lines, and the wheel arches especially in the back are well designed. There is no mistaking it for a BMW as it has a lot of heritage styling cues. The weak points for me: 1 - available colors are not great, probably the worst for any M car launch 2 - the wheel design do not help this car, it looks so much better on the Mperformance wheels. These wheels look like they are designed for X5. 3 - the overall stance is bad from the factory. Front wheel gap is enormous and the offset of the wheels is very conservative. I think a drop and decent set of wheels will make this design really amazing. |
