Hi all, I’ve had stage 2 done on Fri, very happy so far. My question is, when I downloaded the self flash instructions it mentions how they won’t be responsible for damage caused by anyone having a valve Controller fitted, I have!
Does that mean I need to remove it ASAP.
Thanks for any help given

Curiously, say my first purchase of the hex tune is stage 1...

What is the process and cost if I wish to go to stage 2 later on?

Cheers,

Cheers,
As I understand it, its the cost of the difference between the 2 tunes plus labour.

Cheers,
Just the price of the map.

All labor with the the ECU is complete.

You will need an exhaust and down pipes at least to move up to Stage 2.

I've removed the valve controller now anyway just to be safe, but when I started it in efficient mode it still sounds like the valves are open.

I hope you get an answer for the valve controller because that's a convenient thing to have and a lot of people use them.

The ***Disclaimer*** in our HEX flash Instructions is meant to be a
simple warning that any device connected to the CANBus can potentially
lead to issues - during the patching (unlocking) process, as well as during
MAP switching, and even under normal operation and driving conditions.

This includes remote valve controllers, piggy-back devices, or any other
auxiliary control devices, even when left in 'Stock' or 'Bypass' modes.

Additionally, a faulty valve controller, or valves intentionally left in the
the closed position during extended periods of aggressive driving, can
negatively affect drivability/performance, or worse.

As with most disclaimers, the purpose is to offer reasonable notice to
consumers in the effort to lessen the chance of future technical issues
and complications; typically based on prior first hand experiences and
similar circumstances.

Thanks for the reply, I was a bit concerned it (the controller) was left on during the tune but it's off now so all good

I assume the reason it sounds like the valves are open is the GTS start up roar feature.

Possibly yes, it's louder driving in efficient but I guess that's caused by the DP's though.

Nope, well at least not for me, I've been running Stage 1 and dp's for about a year & a half . No CEL so far. I think some members have reported getting a CEL, but no specific time or miles. Luck of the draw I guess, no biggie anyhow, you can just clear it and your good to go

What's stopping you from going to Stage 2? you have the appropriate modifications to qualify for it, right?

Nothing significant to update.

Sales are still very strong with new Certified Installers being added
on a regular basis. Our power levels on standard pump fuels still look
to be the benchmark with performance results exceeding what is
being seen with custom tuning, and even alternative fueling options.
(Area Under the Curve will always beat peak power!)

A customer of ours recently competed in the European Car Magazine
- Continental Tire - all BMW Shootout and fared very well in every
category against the competition with upgraded turbos.
(You'll be surprised what "upgraded" turbos really do on a dyno with load.)

More and more customers are coming to us with unlocked ECU's and
other brands of software to switch to HEX Tuning, and the feedback is
quite outstanding. I'm sure they'll be more reviews soon sharing their
objective experiences and overall satisfaction.

"Way smoother and the GTS features sound much
better than _____'s tune."
- i_n_s_t_a_graham

"WOW! Soo much more mid range power and it
just keeps pulling all the way to redline"
- jc.m4

Can't seem to find this on the board but are users able to run pure turbos with your stage 2 / stage 2 + tune?

Negative.

Modified turbos require very specific tuning, and should not be used
with software calibrated for factory turbos.

Solid mix of cars!

The last two plots are the most interesting as it shows our
HEX Tuning Stage ONE vs. the BM3 Stage 2 E30 file making
nearly identical numbers.

NOTE: We advertise +60-70WHP and 80-90WTQ, and this is
yet another example of gains that are more than advertised!

Add downpipes and our Stage TWO file and that car will gain
a minimum of 20whp and 30wtq.
Quote:
Vehicle: 2016 BMW (F82) M4 (6MT/Manual) - Black Sapphire Metallic
Software Level: HEX Tuning Stage ONE -AND- Stage TWO (username:qspring)
Additional Mods: Evolution Racewerks Downpipes / Eisenmann "Black Series" Exhaust / Injen Intake

Side Note: I'd be curious if that "Stacked" Stage 2+ car with
the ethanol mix and meth injection is even that much faster
than either of the other cars seeing as how aggressive that
taper is after 3,700rpm.

Did you guys get any chances to run after the dyno day was over?
