Just keeping the Ferodo on all the time to see if you can stand it would be another option. They are not crazy loud like Pagid and could be bearable in street.

I ran performance friction 06 all the time in my e46 m3 back in time

School bus and trucks drivers were looking at me at stop light

It's funny for 5 minutes then It's embarrassing

I'll drive them to and from the track so i'll see

After a few events my DS1.11 got pretty dang quiet. Ended up just leaving them on for most of this past summer.

If it's not that bad I'll keep them on for sure

I swap between OEM and the DS1.11 and have no problems at all. Even if the Ferodo got quieter eventually (mine still squeal like crazy most of the time until they're hot) I don't think I'd leave them on all the time simply because of the spectacular amounts of dust they generate.

+1

OP, keep the DS1.11 on a few days after your event and the pads will clean up the rotor surface and be ready for your street pads

I do the same. Swap back and forth no issue. Too loud for me for daily use but sometimes laziness wins out for a few days.

reviving an old thread. anyone run ds2500 for daily and swap in ds1.11 for track?

I have a track day in a couple weeks but the day before I am driving 2+ hours with wife and young toddlers (nap time) in car... supposedly the ds2500 and 1.11 compounds have enough similarities that this makes the transition very quiet and doesn't need a proper bedding. just trying to figure out if I should swap the pads before the trip with the napping kids or do it after (not ideal since it'll be dark and not leave me enough time if something unexpected happens during pad swap)

thanks.

PFA, yes that's 2 rear facing baby seats, fit no problem if you're not really tall

Kids can sleep through anything. If your gentle on turn-in entry you could probably drive a full track session without disturbing their nap. Lol

I vote to leave on the DS1.11. If it's mostly highway driving them you shouod be ok. The squeal tends to be most audible/annoying around town.

BBS look gorgeous btw!

Never had any problem swapping any of the various Ferodo compounds and they actually recommend DS 1.11 and 2500 - definitely compatible

I use the 2500 and 1.11. No issues swapping between them.

I did the same but remember DS1.11 are very mild pads.

Unless they're really noisy, you can keep them on comfortably.

did you notice any significant increased dust/rotor wear? I'll see how they are

I've swapped between oem and ds1.11. Been meaning to swap back to oem since the last event back in July 2021....but life happens and they're still on there today. After a year worth of occasional daily driving the pads are definitely noisy but Rotors aren't excessively worn down compared to oem pads. Rotors are still above minimum thickness when checked at last oil change. The low speed squeal is definitely subjective though, I feel bad for anyone with the windows down at a stop light.

My PFCs sounded like a freight train making an emergency stop on rusty rails. It was so bad.... I kept them in anyway.

Finally, I'm running the ferodo ds1.11 on the street all the time.

I love the bite of them and they are pretty quiet most of the time, when they make noise, it's not that bad to me. Run them for 2 years now street and track

I have the opposite experience with 1.11s on the street as tropicatango - they squeal something fierce. Their initial bite is not so aggressive that are not street tolerable but for me it is all about the noise - like bleeding from the ears sounds like a freight train coming to a stop everyone turning to glare at your car and shoot you the bird bad. Worth trying on the street though since you definitely get mixed experiences on the sound. Their more aggressive 3.12 is actually much quieter

Otherwise the 1.11/2500 is an excellent combo. The 1.11 is very good all around and also has a good level of bite for cars that are not high grip (ie slicks, aero, etc). You also do not have to rebed the pads when swapping back & forth. The 2500 can generate a decent amount of dust though if that is negative for you.
