D088 Intercooler

Does anyone know where D088 top mount cooler made??? D088 is a Swedish Performance company. I tried emailing them but got no reply. I wondering if this is just another chinese clone that everyone sells or if this is a actual unit designed by them like the Mishmoto cooler.Made in Sweden or China? That is the question...

Per their website

All DO88 products are designed and tested 'in house

this is a common phrase used by companies that make products in China.

Im not saying their products are made in China, I have absolutely no idea but if it was not they most likely would advertise it

Yeah it definitely looks like VSRF, CTS, Phoenix Racing style coolers. I heard from some people those units actually hurt the performance with heatsoak and less hp. I probably go with mishimoto, Wagner or Garrett cooler. Another option is Stock intercooler from FCP Euro with lifetime replacement, should the stocker leak...

This guy below is not a happy camper, and put his stock one back on:

Tube & fin best for heat transfer but heat up quicker (cost more to make). Bar & plate absorb more heat but take longer to dissipate it (cheaper to make). Most orient units are bar & plate...... only a couple makers use tube & fin

Same applies with FMIC's also

I had to trim a small piece of flimsy metal on my M2C hood and no regrets.

This looks very much like the rest of the flavor of the month charge coolers but I can tell you the do88 J pipe is cast/single piece high quality aluminum. I know that's not relevant at all here but compared to the other brands mentioned in this thread (besides Wagner) it's superior quality.

Wagner uses tube and fin. Who else? I am looking to upgrade my unit at some point and want tube and fin.

I have not tried or tested the F8X stuff, but their E9X kit is fantastic

This is tube and fin but it will cost you arm and leg!!!
Looks like a well built unit but costs as much as a full intercooler, heat exchanger, and dct cooler combo...

Are there any comparison data that show it's worth the extra price over a Wagner or even one of the cheaper coolers?

For 4K it needs to easily outperform everything else on the market

The only thing imo that would justify double the cost over a Wagner unit would be if they had similar tech to the Mezzo Microtube Intercoolers (used in F1).

$4k and it brings IATs to low 100s...well my Mishimoto in 100+ degree SoCal weather also gives me low 100s...104 while driving around the city to be exact. 98-102 on the highway. Guess I made the right call with my Mishimoto unit.

Reviving this thread to see if anyone has purchased the DO88 TMIC and can provide feedback.

Thanks!
