So which M4 owner valeted their car? [Update: employee fired from job]

Update by YMB_M4_j2 (Jan. 22, 2015):

Quote:
I just heard back from the Director of Operations where ValetDrive was working. They identified the employee and terminated him. You can see the details in the attached screen shot of the email.

They have asked that we refrain from mentioning the name of the condo complex so they dont have any bad PR and i think thats only fair since they did take action immediately.

I re-uploaded the full video, youtube is still processing it, it should go to 1080 shortly

I'm on an airplane so I can't load the video, but I always valet any car I'm in.

I make them keep it up front to avoid any joyriding.

Other than being a complete moron to do this (so many ways to identify him, from his buddy, to the plates on cars in the garage, etc) he is also just dumb about cars (his bafflement over the M1 and M2 buttons was pretty outstanding)

Would love it if this forum pulled together and we could out and identify the video reviewer.

C'mon team - get 'er done.

I valet parked cars when I was in college. I never abused or moved someone's car. I did admire them while they sat pretty for hours at a time. This guy is just a plain idiot. Not everyone is like I used to be I guess.

I avoid valet parking as much as possible, especially if the guys doing the valet are young.

My dad's range rover sport was crashed in a basement garage like that one by a valet. These guys don't respect shit. Another dude was caught doing over 200km/h in Montreal on the highway in a X6M a few years ago, it was the valet who ''borrowed'' the car.

That being said, if I was the owner of that car, all hell would brake loose right about now.

I use to work in Valet way back in the day, what I saw can not be unseen. I will never valet my cars. Self park ftw! If there is no self park available we take one of the other cars.

I watched about 10 seconds of that video before I turned it off in complete rage....have never, and will never, valet the M. If that's the only thing available, that's what a beater (or my gf's car), is for.

I respect the vallets who are courteous and helpful. Even though there are some whom you know are fishing for more tips, at least they can tell you where the closest in-and-out is. Like most other things in life, its the few rotten apples that ruin the whole batch.

Your car is not safe with anyone. I recently took my M4 to an unnamed BMW dealership in the Chicago burbs and had a dashcam record a 20 year old looking technician get stuck in the snow with my car, take selfies with it, take it on an 8 mile 'test drive' and take it through an automated car wash after telling the service manager multiple times not to wash it.

I know none of this is especially bad (maybe the car wash), but I figured BMW would treat their M customers with more respect.

I've always been curious how much more people have to pay to leave their cars out front. What's typical?

Wow. I am definitely keeping my dash cam on when I service the car. May you PM me the dealers name? I need to know which dealer not to service the car at.

The closest to me is Perillo... But ive had bad experiences with them in the past.

Maybe not especially bad, but this would piss me off. It seems nobody respects anybodies property anymore. I dropped off my F30 for a service appointment a couple of years ago and ran in to get some parts. When I came back out there were three techs standing around my car yukking it up. One of them was leaning on my trunk with both of his elbows talking to his buddies. I hate being "that guy", but I walked over and as calm as I could muster asked him to get off of my trunk because I put enough scratches in my own car by myself. An SA saw this and came over and got between us pretty quick. Like you said, not the end of the world, but very annoying and disrespectful.

Edit: I don't think I would of been as calm as you were about this after I watched the dash cam video. Good job on the restraint.

Agree entirely. The lack of respect or cluelessness is astonishing, especially at BMW service where you would expect a higher level of service.

Edit: I definitely didn't go all out Hulk on them since they still have my Summer wheels/tires in storage, but I did immediately write the service manager and called BMWNA about the matter to try to resolve it as best as possible.

I always give them $20, if it's a spot where exotics frequent I do $100 to ensure they don't move it.

nothing in particular, places will park nice cars in the front because it looks good, im sure higher end places might make you pay in the city or something.
but luckily i havent been in that position where im asked to pay

WOW... what a loser!

On the C7 corvette forums someone posted up a video that the car recorded of a valet hitting about 50 or 60mph in the valet parking garage. The car automatically records when its put into Valet mode.

The story was picked up by the news, the valet lost his job.

With that, this loser still goes ahead and does something like this, and has the guts to post it online... unreal
