Great job on finding this idiot, unfortunately I doubt he learned his lesson.

Pretty audacious of the fellow. That's not a terrible trait to have, but it's one I'd just as soon a parking valet not demonstrate with my car. LOL

All the best.

As for the keying guy, I hope he gets found. I simply love it when these a-holes get caught. Can't state how damn rightous it feels to find them cause sometimes the law and karma takes too damn long.
+1

Re watching the full video, do you guys see the other valet is actually charging or downloading things to his personal iPhone via plugging in to the armrest USB port.

I would love to know how this M4 owner and the other cars owners personally feels about these incidents. What other stuff did this guy film and do in these cars that was not posted, makes you think right?
This video proves what we all know already. Valets have no respect or consideration, especially when it comes to a high performance vehicle like the M4. I don't let valets drive my 535i, for a number of reasons, and this video is just another piece of proof. At least these moron valets get the added benefit of being bashed all over the forum. They earned this special notoriety.

Amen

High school joy rides of cars couldn't afford and would never ever do that in your own car

I once walked 20 mins from a spot so I don't have valet the car

Just make a valet mode key or some coded lock with limited speed and RPM...that's it.

Most of us treat our cars like our second wife, we even name our cars. What they've done is equivalent to 2 dudes raping your wife after she's been roofied at the bar. She was helpless and couldn't call you for help. It's just not right.

If you're a car nut, you wouldn't tolerate this bullshit. If you don't give a shit about your car, you're in the wrong forum and get a fucking Prius.

BMW uses a limiting of the speed capabilities on cars they ship to prevent port workers from abusing the cars when they drive them off the ship to the PDC locations. It is called transit mode. As far as I know, customers cannot invoke this feature so ED customer shipments are not performance governed.

I would like to see a valet mode limited to 15 or 20 mph and 100 hp as an example that customers can enable.

Your right, it is not an exotic. But, I've read enough threads where people have had to wait quite a few weeks to months for parts due to accidents. I know I would be pissed if my car was put out of action for a length of time because of these goofballs. Especially if it was during the summer as they are short enough to enjoy here.

I know a lot of that was due to the new parts system BMW has put in place and hopefully it has gotten sorted out by now.

If you want to tear up a car and do a review on it, go buy your own. Or figure out how to let somebody use theirs with permission for your hobby. But, good luck with that.

Otherwise do your bleeping job and just park the car. Almost everybody has ways they can abuse something at their job. It doesn't mean it is right or that you should. If you do decide to go down that road than be prepared to pay the consequences.

Not a damn penny. When I pull up to the valet I say "Can I leave it up front?"
If the answer is no, then I respond "I'll park it myself"
The valet response quickly changes changes to "oh wait let me see if I can make space"
Valet thought: (I want a big tip now) (moves old guys Bentley to the back of the lot)

But I do always tip when I return. I saw someone tips $100 for valet to be upfront. LOL that's Insane. Most the time I even hate if its a busy place up front and people are near the car!

Didn't you once say this to a guy that got a speeding ticket?

I mean, I dunno, you want that kid to take responsibility for speeding but no responsibility/consequence to the guy that joyrided multiple cars and exploited his access to them for his own 'fame' (whatever the fame of a Twitter account is these days)

But troll on buddy, troll on....

I have a very hard time understanding the thinking of those who think the forum overreacted or overstepped the situation or have sympathy for the guy who made the videos.

I think those who are sympathetic to the valet should find him and offer him a job, we get a jerk out of the valet industry and they can feel good about themselves. It's a win-win.

Supposedly the Veyron has a 2nd key that unlocks top speed mode.
And other cars like the Vette have a 'valet' mode that limits power.
It really shouldn't be too hard for BMW to implement.

You sir are an idiot.

How about I pay to put my kids in daycare and pick them up to find that they have been left in a corner all day crying? By your response and attitude the kids fine what's your point?

The point is the person pays for a service and expects their property to be treated with respect. It's not asking for much.

How about you pay me to come look after your house, I'll pee all over the carpets and have them cleaned up after. Good as new.

After a mortgage/house, a car is most people's most expensive purchase. I look after my house and I look after my car. If I'm paying someone I expect the same.

oh man reading this definitely makes me mad knowing other valets out there do that. I had a friend who had his new r8 put in valet, then one of the guys took it out for a joy ride and completely killed the car, but he luckily had a hidden cam. -- was able to get that guy fired and able to provide it for insurance.

Even if bmw offers a valet mode I still would never valet the car.

It still doesn't prevent a valet from mistreating the car.

I put my car in valet mode with the Cobb AP when I have it serviced.

It takes 15 seconds to download the map but the peace of mind is worth it.
