Any Yas owners paint stock 437m wheels black?

I’m considering painting satin black like these.

Anyone done this or gloss black before?

Yes I have

It's a major improvement over stock silver or gloss black in my opinion.

No mate. Painted by a shop. These were actually powder coated.

The only time you should be spraying wheels is if they are mega fucked up and you are selling the car, or spraying are them with something like raptor (which is more a 4x4 scene thing).

Painting will kill the value.

I'd sell mine first and buy a set on classifieds people cannot get rid of as they painted them.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm going to mull over the idea of gloss black vs satin black vs leave them stock.

I don't know man, the 437M doesn't exactly fetch high resales. I don't like my 437M so I painted them fully gloss black and use them for my snow tires. Looks much better to me. Normally I am on my 666M wheels. Let me look for some pictures.

I misread the post but thought he might like to see the satin black done well on the Comp pack wheels. So I left it there. Sorry for that.

Painting wheels is little like individual colours - doesn't kill value just narrows the market a little. Provided the work on the wheels is professional. Powder coating leaves a beautiful finish and looks great. Satin black is a massive improvement over that hideous stock black which looks awful.

Natural Depreciation, past accidents and remaps are about the only things that kill value.

I've kept up with 437m/666m prices weekly for about 4 years from forum classifieds and have seen how painted versions keep getting reduced in value over and over and over time until they end up selling between 33% - 50% off what non painted OEM wheels go for.

You are absolutely right. To me, they have more value as winter wheels but you are right on that they will lose value for resale.

To me, Satin or Matte finishes should be reserved to high-end aftermarket wheels. Plus, once the car is dirty all wheels look satin lol.

Satin black. Gloss black looks shitty when the tire is all matte

You mean as soon as you drive the car around the block after a wash?
