Exclamation 2015 M3 F80 Order vs. In Stock.. NEED HELP

Hey guys, so I was in the process of ordering an m3 but allocations are so backed up that with the build I wanted they said it won't be here for at least 3 months.. Already sold my car. I got an offer to buy one that's in stock but it doesn't come with the black light alloy wheels, which I LOVE.. But I don't think I can wait 3 months without a car. Any opinions or ideas on what I should do?? Need to decide by tomorrow!! Thanks

I would just buy it if the wheels are the only thing different. You can always get new wheels down the line or just buy some OEM wheels.

Or ask the dealer to swap with another car.

If it's simply just the wheels- buy the one in stock- you can always buy the wheels separate. But if there are other things that aren't exactly what you want- color- ext/int specs- order it. There's NOTHING quite like knowing your car is exactly the way you want it.

There will always be someone selling the wheels you like when they go aftermarket with theirs. Buy it.

Exactly - things that you can change later (wheels, exterior trim) are one thing, but I would never settle for a car that did not have the options I really wanted that could not be retrofitted.

Whatever they may be, you will always wish you had ordered the car right for the duration of ownership.

yup! Waiting the 3 months is worlds better than 2-3 years of sitting on a what if.

I've been in the order process for my individual build 2016 m6 since January- and I'm finally about to go into production soon, and it's literally driven me insane- but this summer I know it'll be worth every frustrating moment

Get the dealership to get you black rims.. if you can't wait..

Then post the 18s on this forum for sale if you can't work at a swap/deal with the dealership.

They don't have any m3's in stock to switch out with and buying new ones if they're not ordered from factory cost 5000 with tires.. Not gonna pay that when I could just ay 1200 from order. The car comes with everything else how i like it so I guess I can't complain.. And i get it next week I guess I gotta stop being so picky for once and just get it and take my time to change the rims and so forth. enjoy the car a little.

Why don't you ask if they can swap with another dealership car for car?

Or better yet, go locate the car your looking for. I would think someone within few hours flight would have an M3 that meets your needs. An you might even be able to get a better deal

Worse case start looking at the for sale area of the forum.. I think you might be able to pick some up.. Not sure if these have been sold yet.

But they do exist

I still don't understand the delay. The dealer you are working with should be able to swap an allocation. If not, find another dealer?

You're going to end up with a better deal buying a car off a lot, go that route and use the cash savings to buy some aftermarket wheels or a set of wheels someone is selling of theirs from eBay.

Otherwise, just order the car and wait 3 months. Could always buy a beater off craigslist and sell it when yours shows up

Does this car have 18's or the 19 light alloy? I missed where the OP has the 18" rims...
