Where do you exactly apply the paste? Where on the back of pads?

I started experiencing some squealing from what appears to be the rear pads, but only when I first reverse in the morning (and the ambient temperature/pads are cold). I experienced this occasionally with the stock pads too.

I don't experience any squealing noises when moving forward and then braking, though. I applied Sil-Glyde to the backs of the pads.

Just apply it to the backing plate on the back of the brake pad.

Actually its more of making sure you ensure no small particles are on either surface. A larger speck of dust can get lodged and might cause squealing or cause an unecessary scratch on the disk. No specific "cleaner" required.

Also the paste that is spoken of - it's "anti-seize" you can buy at any auto parts store and yes - applied to the opposite side of the brake pad where the caliper makes contact with the BACK of the brake pad.

How did you guys take off the sensors?

Was it difficult?

I was reading a little on the DIY thread too. Seems really simple...

I used a small screw driver to leverage it loose then used my fingers. It's really not that different from how a paperclip attaches to something. But don't use HeMan strength because it's about as fragile as a paperclip as well.

Push ups? Amateur. I advise the shake weight. It'll give you the strength of a bear and the grace of a gazelle.

I am about to do this install myself. No shims needed for the back of the power stop brake pads? I think I read somewhere stock has them, but you can't remove them.

The shims are already on the Powerstops. Just add the paste.

I have been trying to get a set of these but failing miserably.. everywhere is out of stock of one or the other.

Are there any alternatives available? I need to get something before Good Friday so I can get them installed while the wheels are off for my MS Spring and Spacer installs.

Literally just ordered them from http://www.carid.com a few days ago. Had them on for 2 days now. I just went down the list from where it says they are sold on the Power Stop website. Few of them have it. Not sure where you're looking.

Yesterday there was a 2 week back order on Carid for the front. Looks like they have 1 in stock at the moment; 22 in stock for the rear.

I placed an order on carid 3 days ago. It said 1 in stock for the front and 20+ in stock of the rears, ships same day.

Emailed them yesterday after it
Not shipping and they said neither the front or back will ship until the 28th

I also placed an order on rockauto a few days earlier when they said they had ample stock of both, only to get told that they had made an "inventory error"

Just did mine, pretty painless hardest part was the sensor and that took like 2 minutes. Picked up a short punch kit at HF for 8$. Cleaned the wheels when I had them off , scratched the back portions pretty bad (must have been small road debris that got on the sponge. Be mindful of this. Anyways I applied some Sonax to the caliper and wheels, that stuff really gives a deep shine! I did the recommended bedding procedure and drove around about 100miles. As everyone has mentioned less bite but still pretty similar stopping power. Obviously needs to be instrument tested but doesn't appear to be anything drastically different. Wheels are much cleaner we will see by the end of the week but so far so good. My rears never dusted anywhere near as bad as the fronts so I'm going to just leave the rears stock.
