Hit and killed a deer
I hit and killed a deer with my F80 this week. Driving on one of the local country roads alongside a creek, a deer jumped from the water over the guard rail right in front of my car. Needless to say, there was no time to react and avoid hitting it.
Thanks to a combo of the collision avoidance brake preload and my Turner skid plate, damage was pretty limited. Obviously, the bumper cover was toast, as was my Status Gruppe front lip along with the side belly pans (cracked), but the metal skid plate protected my oil cooler from catastrophic damage and the car remained drivable. HIGHLY recommend the skid plate. Not only for better protection from rocks, but also to provide better lateral strength for front collision/impact. |

That deer must of been sleeping, all curled up.
Maybe a Wino.

Glad you/others are Ok. Car really doesnt look too bad. Insurance will make it right.
The skid plate was a blip of a passing thought every so often. Does seem like a really good idea. |

You should of kept the deer and processed the meat after so it does not go to waste!
This guy did exactly that, but he picked it up a day later since he was driving a fire truck and on duty when he hit the deer.
