im not sure why the take rate is so low in europe other than a majority of the people who are now coming into money were forced to drive manual when they were younger. Here in the US everything has been automatic for a loooong time. Most people can't drive one.

I started out with manuals but god I love the DCT.
I see why people would want and prefer a manual, but that’s just not me anymore and it seems like more and more turn that way in Europe.

Back in Europe we drove manual only for years because we didn't have any good automatic back in the days! Once automatic transmission got better than manuals over the years, we switched to automatic transmission.
