One track day left in the season. Perfect time to finish them off before swapping.the winters on.

Tread noise is slightly louder than new, but still tolerable.

Stock alignment and suspension. I unmounted and remounted the tires on opposite sides to prolong the wear since the track I go on is harder on the driver side of the car (clockwise track).

I've had my 265/285 35R 19s on for a week now and they are a definite improvement in dry traction over the stock PSSs. Drove them in the rain this weekend and they are fine. Was on highway doing 80mph+ with no issues. Not as good as PSS in the rain, but perfectly usable, at least when they are relatively new. Wouldn't want to hit a deep patch of standing water at high speed of course, but life is about tradeoffs. I am willing to drive a bit slower and a bit more carefully in the rain in exchange for better grip when dry. If you are not, I would stick with Michelin PSSs.

I just had my set of the RE-71R installed on my factory 19s. They are wider than the "star" spec PSS that came with the car and gives a nice square sidewall to them. Drove around a little today and I find them just slightly noisier than the stock PSS. They do ride a little firmer and provides better feedback to the steering wheel. They do obviously provide a lot more grip too.

Overall very happy with these tires and no regrets.

Costco got the best price on them here in Canada. It was under 1300cdn plus tax for all 4. I took them to my shop with a no touch corghi machine for install.

I still have no idea why BMW have "star' spec tires that's narrow and why not just use the regular PSS that's normal width.

And you still don't have your car yet?

I just finished putting ~1K highway miles on RE-71Rs during a road trip. They grip is great, rain (full tread) or dry. Marginally noisier on regular pavement, but they do produce really annoying high frequency hum/rumble when driving on concrete surfaces and parts of pavements freshly sealed with tar.

They do pickup more debris from the road, so expect more wheel well bouncing noise. And more stones sucked up and deposited between the rear rotors and dust shield Otherwise, I love them.

No touch tire installation? How?
Do they have some magic non-touch sucking technique to motivate the tires onto the wheel?

a
They employ Corgis to mount tires on rims. They especially love doing donk rims and tires.

Seriously though, it just means that the dismounting/mounting hardware doesn't touch the wheel.

I do notice that they pick up more sand and small rocks. I am going to have my rocker panels wrapped in Xpel Ultimate this coming Monday.

Mine are still doing great. I do wish they made them wider. I will likely want to go to 305s in the rear this spring (going larger turbos) and will have to go with RE-11s.

Still, these are great tires if 285 enough for you. Great grip.

Hello,

Do you guys think 275/35/19 RE-71R will rub in the front with stock suspension?

Thanks.

Can't say for sure, but I'm running MPSS 255/35/ZR19's up front (stock suspension) along with 10mm spacers, and I could still run 275/35/ZR19 MPSS with or without the spacers. That said, if the Bridgestone's are wider than the same size Michelin, you should be fine. If anything, you might need 5mm spacers for inside clearance, but I doubt it. Hope this helps.

I have that size up front but not that tire. I'm running the Yoko Ad08r's now. Since the yoko's are taller than stock they do hit the plastic on the inner fender ever so slightly but only on the passenger side. Idk if they are any wider than the 71's but 2-3mm less and they wouldn't rub. The Re71's in 265/35/19 had absolutely no problem clearing. On or off track, full turn etc. Also the 275's look a little goofy to me on the stock front 19's. Turn in feels good tho. I think for the stock 19's going Re71's in 265/285 fits and looks really nice. I know it's not what you wanted but maybe it'll help.

Thank you both for the reply. I'll most likely go with RE71R 265/285 35.

Drive4fun is your yoko 30 series tires or are they also 35?

I am seriously thinking about getting these for the shop M3. Any more feedback? 285 in rear and 265 up front with stock 19" rims.

I have those sizes mounted on a spare set of 19's, but am waiting for warmer weather.... Friends with that setup have said the grip is significantly increased, but road noise is increased too (which means absolutely nothing to me).

I bought mine at Costco...just under $1,500 Canadian (obviously) all in, mounted and out the door

You have any pics of that set-up?

I thought about going that route, but have concerns about how it will look.

I know the rear will look flush since stock it is stretched, but the front in stock size is perfect and don't want to have the bulging look at all.
