Texas M3/M4
Who all here is from Texas and has ordered their M3/M4?
I'm in San Antonio, and I can't wait until mid-July, when my M4 should be delivered Until then I'll just ride my bikes.

Where did you order from? I'm Texas-based (from Austin) and ordered from BMW San Antonio. Apparently BMW of Austin has a 40-person waiting list....

they were pushing this vehicle hard. when I purchased mine 3months ago they kept insisting I picked this one up because it was so similar to mine except mine was red interior. im glad someone picked it up. let me know when it arrives I'd love to go see it before you take it from here.

Planning an M3 in 2015 (for a 2016 model?)
Up in DFW area -- Like others here, LOVIN' the new M3 in almost every way, car seems a great fit for me as I look to downsize slightly from my 2008 550i.... but wanting 4 doors to occasionally take the kids/family out. It will be my DD for sure.
Looking forward to lots of new tech, better HUD, WAY better performance.... and probably better gas mileage too! (I get 26mpg on hwy cruising around 70-75 with the big V8). May have to find access to an F1 track around Austin someday? My only area of sub-par enthusiasm? The colors.... none reaches out and grabs me. YMB is pretty but something just seems a bit "off" to me.... Silverstone is my next choice but still seems just a tad too "silver" for my taste. Hoping next year will bring some new choices, maybe even an Individual / Frozen option to drool over! << Oh yeah... start saving $$.... now... >> |

M4 Ordered
I was one of the first on the waiting list for the M3/M4 in Austin (I was added to the wait list in January actually) and will be the first one in Austin to take delivery of my M4. I ordered it white on red (not the full leather package, IMHO that is a complete waste of money) with all the upgrades except the sunroof (what's the point of it in the Texas heat, plus it adds weight) and ceramic brakes (overkill, I am not tracking the car).
According to the sales manager, delivery will be in late July (my birthday is the 28th so that would be ) or early August at the latest. The wait is absolutely agonizing... |

Placed an order for a SO/SO Extended last week. 800# still says scheduled with no date and the site still shows the old color info from the initial allocation. CA said it's a late June/Early July build with delivery in August. Supposed to be their first allocation of the year.
They said the waiting would be painful and weren't lying. I've checked the status at least twice or more every day since ordering it Tuesday. |

I called the dealer this morning and my car just moved into status 150... I am on cloud nine... Estimated production completion is June 20th, add 5 weeks for shipping and that brings it right smack on my birthday July 28th!!!
:happy anim:

Shipping might take longer. For example, there are two ships going to Texas this month (departing 10 June and 18 June). Today I was told that even though the car has been completed and is waiting for shipment, it might not even make it on the ship on the 18th. So it will just sit at the port waiting for available space on some ship. Then its 21-22 days for transportation to port and then another week or so to got to the dealer. I hope I get it by the end of August now.

im completely clueless on my vehicle, I was told when I placed my order back in January I would have a build week of early June.
I ask my CA and he doesn't really give me updates. I asked him how do I get the to look up my status on the web, and he states that you need a vin to look it up. but I see other ppl calling/looking up via web before hand to see the status. is this true? id like to know when to expect my vehicle. I don't even know when my 'expected' build date is. |
