ISTA+ ABS Bleed - Do I Need Battery Charger?

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if I need a voltage regulator when I perform ABS bleed procedure through ISTA+.

Or can I just just charge the battery to 100% before starting the procedure?

I've heard that ISTA+ can exit procedure if there is sudden drop in voltage or something.....

Thank you!

It’s a quick procedure so a regularly charged battery is plenty.

I've done it with a trickle charger, worked fine.

I recently had brakes changed and new fluid with braided lines but pedal feels spongy

I don’t think they bothered with this procedure

Woudl this procedure help ensure any air from the system is gone?

Thanks.

I’ll have to go back to them. Annoying that they didn’t even mention it.

Yes. Sounds like air is in the DSC/ABS lines.

Cheers.

If I’m stationery and I press the brakes hard they continue to compress and the pedals moves further away rather than hitting a brick wall.

Feels like it’s crushing the air in lines

Definitely sounds like air is in the system. Could’ve been a poor brake bleed with air in calipers/brake lines and/or air in DCS/ABS lines.
