I own an F80 M3 competition and a C63 S, so watched this with some interest.
The comparison is in line with what I would have expected. I.e. the M3 is more precise around a track, helped by its lighter weight. If you compare the power to weight ratio, you will see they are almost identical, however the C63 has a lot more torque which makes it really easy to drive. The C63 S also sounds nicer, even compared to the MPE fitted to my car. The review here is a little flawed, albeit, it wouldn't have made much difference. The flaw is that it's a CS and not a comp, plus of course, the cup 2's Vs PSS. But a comp would still win around a track. It would have been nice if they had included a session on the road, as it's here that I think the C63's character really comes through, with the V8 thrust making you grin more than the M3's engine. They both have great turn-in, but the M3 has the edge, whilst the C63 delivers in such an accessible way. My conclusion is that one isn't necessarily better than the other, they are simply different. I think if you are used to an M3, you might dismiss the AMG if you only drove it for a few miles, but use it for a day or more and you would see what I mean.

That being said, I think the E92 has much more character than the C63S, and I would prefer to drive it over the Merc even if price weren't an issue.

Yes, the M3 CS has 37 ft-lb more torque than the comp, and with Cup2's will launch a little better. Depending on the driver and conditions I think the C63S has a slight advantage, but the M3 CS will hang and as evidence by the video, could even beat a C63S.

C63 sounds better, has a better interior... aaaand that's about it. M3 is better everywhere else.
lighter gets different fenders from a base model handles better depreciates less It would be hard for me to pass up a used C63 Black Series if we're comparing it to a CS though. That big NA V8 makes a car fun even at low speeds. And its a very safe place to park your money.

It seems like the c63s are still street cars with loud exhaust and good straight line speeds. A muscle car. |

So I regard the F8x as the last of the classics. I wouldn't get a Benz even if it were free, automatic transmissions don't interest me at all. But I don't dismiss their engine or chassis technology, they make amazing stuff. An Aston Martin Vantage with the upcoming manual transmission would be to die for, IMO.

I have the CS map in my manual transmission F80. I see you may be local, maybe we can organize a meet...

where did you get the CS tune ? I was thinking of going BM3 but maybe the CS tune is a bit more refined?
