The coupe will debut after the sedan. It won't debut until the replacement for the standard W204 coupe has arrived (and that hasn't happened yet).

How about 46 posts?

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=46

But, did I just tap into a great memory to give you that link? Nope. I used the drop down at the top of the thread and searched for "coupe". Neat trick, right?

What the heck is MB thinking... 510hp and 265 tires. The car should have 325s!!!!

This car will be amazing and even better with the correct rubber. 265 is better than 255 but still way too little for a car with this much power. I cannot understand why they do this?

Is that a floating caliper? Front or rear brakes?

Didn't the W204 C63 had fixed calipers all around?

That is one of the rear brakes. The photo above features an "unfinished" single-piston sliding caliper. The S63 AMG coupe also has a single-piston sliding caliper in the rear but the finished product has a painted cover with the AMG logo on it (see photo below).

The W205 will retain 6-piston fixed calipers up front. Carbon ceramic rotors will also be offered.

And yes, the W204 has 6-piston fixed calipers up front and 4-piston fixed calipers in the rear.

Keep in mind the W205 is going to weigh at least 220 lbs less than its predecessor.

Single-piston sliding caliper on the heavier S63 coupe:

Interesting. M5 has floating in the rear also.

Absolutely correct. It's more than enough. Front brakes are where it is at, anyway. The 4-piston fixed rear calipers on my C63 are nice eye candy though. I think they're the same size, if not a little bigger than the standard fronts on the new F80.

Thanks for posting that info, ybbiz. Sounds like 476hp for the standard model is shaping up to be the final number. We'll see what premium and features they add on for the S.

Adjustable suspension will be a welcome addition to this car I think. Sounds like a similar setup to the standard W205 C class.

My pleasure! And you're absolutely right. I agree that it is a welcome addition. The steering wheel looks nice and meaty, too.

Not me... the transmission kills it for me. The MCT on the C63 overheated and went into limp mode at the track. It was also no where near as responsive and direct as the M-DCT. Until MB puts a true dual clutch in their cars, they aren't for me... great street cars... no as great track capable cars IMO.

i agree with you , but i think the engine will have plenty of space to make more power of it and thats an advantage , but i do hope they make it a better track

I can't wait to see this car, even if there's little to no chance of me picking it over the M. I just want to see what kind of crazy power people are going to get out of this motor. I have a feeling these will dominate the airstrip events.

which is why i want one. I have had my share of track driving in my old E46 M3 and my E92 m3. They were such fun cars. but i am looking into something different this time around.

I think its fair to say the 4.0L V8 coming from AMG is going to make more power stock, and make more power modded than the M4 overall.

Have enjoyed reading this thread for the past 2+ years via daily email update of all the comments.

During this time, I owned an '11 M3 Comp Pkg DCT and grew to love it. Sold last week. I spent a little time in the new M3 and just wasnt in love with it. maybe because I have had too many M3's and want different.

I didnt drive the "LCI" I think you call it, the newer C-AMG. When I got the M3, the C-AMG was still the ham fisted, poorer handling vehicle. Sounds like that was solved.

Looking forward to the new C-AMG as I see a much clearer path for this car to finally best the M3.

When do we get the new Merc?
