Not necessarily. Most 'big power' N54, N55, S55 dynos I see have a 'mountain' power distribution where power falls off significantly in higher RPMs. If someone is peaking at 600+whp at 5000-5500 rpm but falling off a cliff to, say, 510whp at 7300, another car making peak 550 at 7000+ can easily be faster in a roll race.

It's all about the shape of the curve in this case.

We're sure once more of these are out there more comparisons will come. Plenty of JB dynos out there given its been for quite a while now.

Flash tunes as well as 'front end' flashes and backend piggybacks work well. Devil's in the details and its the overall setup that makes the most consistent power without knock that wins races at the end of the day.



Thanks Cary appreciate it. We're doing quite a bit of testing with E85 and blends right now. Fuel scalar wise, we simply started with the Stage 2 93 OTS map we demonstrated here, rescaled for about E40-E50 and got back to work. We're thinking possibly 24-26psi for an OTS with no changes to ignition timing but we'll see if the turbos really do anything worthwhile pushing given they're becoming pretty hot hairdryers at that point. The stock air to water intercooler on the S55 is absolutely phenomenal, leaps and bounds better than any air to air N54 aftermarket upgrade we've ever gotten a chance to tune.

Car gets squirmy in 4th. 3rd is traction light on 295s on this 6MT car, really really fun to drive with instant torque/throttle response
Very impressive guys..... I am liking the more i see. So on the subject of charge air coolers are you hinting that the stock is efficient enough that one does not have to spend thousands of dollars on these custom ending top mount coolers to gain lower IAT's. I am always seeing comments of heat soaking heat soaking...... in the opinion of the masters at what IAT temp is it technically seat soaking to the point of deteriorating performance.....

Downpipes on their own without any retuning added about 15-20whp without any retuning. We have probably about 1-1.5psi here over the previous Stage 1 and managed to add about a degree of timing or so without significant timing pull. Power picked up throughout the RPM range except at the very top 7k+rpm most likely due to efficiency of the turbo. Overall response of the car is also slightly improved due to freer flowing downpipes but even with our Stage 1 the S55 had virtually no lag.

Not shabby at all for ~22-22.5psi at the pre-throttle TMAP sensor, 93 pump gas (98 RON). 500whp/550-560wtq in a RWD car on street tires and just downpipes make this a a truly great all around no headaches performer.

Note that our dyno is not the most optimistic number producing of Dynojets out there given the lower baseline but that's dynos for ya and you can take that into account.

Another point worth mentioning is that this is just a representation of what we felt was a nice way to make for an OTS map but with bootmod3 and custom tuning possibilities are virtually endless. These maps can also be used in a stacked fashion with a JB4 if that's your cup of tea and find the JB4 features handy over what bootmod3 already provides such as PI fuel control, various external failsafes, boost target/map switching etc.

S55 OTS Stage 1 and Stage 2 pump gas maps are now officially available through bootmod3.

Question remains, what will the car pick up with an intake and a full exhaust? Any guesses?

I've been looking at a lot of dyno graphs recently and thought of a really cool feature you all should implement into the bootmod3. For different maps and power curves include the optimal shift points in the heads up display for each gear and map that you are in. No matter what map or gear you are in you will know the perfect rpm to shift at to get max acceleration. Just a little thought, not sure how possible it would be, but it damn sure would make your tune a whole lot cooler.

BUMP, lol. Wondering if you guys ever did the e blend dyno testing? Also curious if mid pipes would make a power difference with the ZCP exhaust.

Hi I'm new here and can I ask a simple question? I've had the bootmod3 stage 2 93 octane tune on my F82 bmw m4. I'm at California where the highest gas is 91 octane. Tuner told me it's ok, but I still wonder if I can still use this 91 gas without any trouble?

PTF has a specific map for Cali 91 gas I think.

So definitely not seeing the same gains as the original post, or anywhere near, bumping an old thread for input. Baseline dyno pull was done stock map and just BMC dropin filters, at 419/444. Added chargepipes and catless downpipes, bm3 stage 2 map and dyno at 436/504. Significant torque gains but not as much of a HP gain as I expected. Any thoughts on if these numbers seem right, or if I should be looking at something else?

That dyno is way off and makes no sense. Id email them and double check. I wonder if you maybe got a boost leak when they did charge pipes.

If it's used in conjunction with a JB4 I'm assuming it must be set o map 0? Just trying to understand how both can be used together without the main flash tune being a BEF.
