Nice review, though a comparison of both cars as a daily would put them closer together, if not edge the C63s ahead. It can’t be discounted that the M3 CS is miles ahead in comfort than the previous M3 Competition, but it’ll never have that general comfort and increased 2019 tech that the C63s gets. If you are comparing CS to pre facelift C63s, the CS may even be the more comfortable drive as well as have the more superior tech. No matter the model, the C63s exhaust beats the M3 Competition and CS, even with the Akra I have fitted to my CS.

I'm no BMW fanboy, I just bought the M3 for the looks but more so because it comes in MT.
That being said, I don't think the Benz looks mean enough on the outside. |

Isn't the base c63s $10k more than base m4?
I considered both but opted for m4 for handling and looks inside and out. I didnt find the c63 dash and infotainment display looked all that great. The exhaust is loud and angry for sure. It was nice initially but could get a bit much over time. |

Yes they sound awful and most of the aftermarket exhaust manufacturers followed the same path that produces the awful exhaust note. The exhaust noise is dampened with cat converters but they virtually have no mufflers with the valves open to smoothen the note.
The twin pipes need to be joined with an X-pipe type collector to get rid of the farty sound of a 6 cylinder split manifold and the secondary cats replaced with perforated tube straight through mufflers to get rid of the raspyness. |

LOL LOL LOL
With all your negative comments, it seemed like you must have been raped by many c63s on the streets, and on the track. Did your wife leave you for another man with a C63s??? Maybe you dislike it so much coz of your ego??? C63s is basically saying to everyone...f#$k you money and what the successful business people drive. Looks are better, interior is better, sound is better, performance is better...hence why is carries a heavier price tag over the M3. And your comments regarding the M5 is better than it, is plain ignorance and stupidity. Thats for the E63s, and yes the E63s >>>>M5. Please don't go and trash someone's thread on their experience with their new car. He clearly has owned both the F80M3 and F82 M4 for many years, knows the car well, and went for the C63s and gave his own personally thoughts... |

Congratulations on your new purchase. We wish that the c63 keeps you smiling for a long time. It's a great car in its class. Enjoy it and we hope to see you soon in a M again!

The car looks great! Would be really interested for you to post a comparison review after you've had the Merc for a while. Watching Top Gear race them both around a track is entertaining but different from real-world experience.

I've got an HSV VF GTS Commodore that'll smoke a C63s in a straight line with a much better exhaust note however, with the demise of Holden and given that my GTS has only 7000km's on it, I decided to preserve that car in it's as new condition purely as an investment and I bought an M4 for what it was designed to be, a weekend thrasher and track car. I hung my helmet up prematurely from circuit racing in 2004 and the desire to drive on the track never left me. BMW's are a better track cars than Mercs and the M division are more focused on it than AMG. This is reflected in production car racing particularly for the second year in a row an F8x BMW won the Bathurst 6 hour in fact this year 7 of the top 10 were BMW's, no Mercs, they were way off the pace from the leading M3/M4's and suffered reliability issues. I didn't buy and M4 to have pose or listen to a V8 exhaust note, I've got a V8 with a better exhaust note than a Merc I can listen to at any time and it's a proper V8 with a 6 speed manual gearbox, but nevertheless, I bought the M4 because it's fastest track car available at the minimum cost that works on the track straight off the showroom floor and retains it's warranty with track use. HSV in comparison will wipe your warranty if it's driven on a race track, BMW don't, in fact they encourage it. If you want to pay me 200k a year to like Merc's we have a deal!! |

But to say it is faster may be a little misleading. After purchasing the M4CS and driving it now for a few weeks - I have no regrets in picking this over a C63S. Enjoy the AMG. |

For what its worth, my friend works at MB and took home a facelift C63s coupe and my non-zcp M3 with the BM3 CS tune was dead even with it on a roll from 40kmh to around 160kmh when we raced in the Simpson Desert
On a dig, whoever gets the better launch will stay ahead. Simple as that. I have to say the facelift C63s is a much better daily driver than the M3/M4 (more comfortable, better sounding etc etc) but it definitely lacks the agility, finesse and tossability that the M3/M4 has.
