Either is a ridiculous notion. I own a 3GT so I obviously don't have the hatred of the F34 being displayed here, but without a major reduction on ride-height and some significant weight loss that also brings down the COG, a M3GT would be terrifying to push around a corner. Considering the MX6 exist though, BMW would be much more likely to build a F84 than F81. U.S. consumers have repeatedly rejected wagons: so much so that the 5er wagon doesn't even get imported now. That, and BMW USA doesn't even think the F31 deserves a N55, much less S55.

On a side-note, the 4GC does not sit on the 3er long-wheel base. F34 and F35 are the only models that have the LWB.

I've said it in so many threads before, but if they made an F81, I would have sold all 3 of my cars for one of them. I'm not even joking.

The F80 isn't enough to pull me away from my E92, because I've got 2 dogs (big ones) and they would destroy that car in a week.

Option B for me if it was at all feasible, would be to keep my E92 M3, and get an F11 535d. But of course that's also no go

Wagon would be epic, especially with the new found torque. GT is cancer and needs to die.

And the convertible isn't a ridiculous notion? I guaranty you a F81 would be no more heavy (if not lighter) than the vert and also be much more structurally ridged and up to task to handling dynamics and demands. I personally would sell my SUV and pick up a M4 wagon in a cardiac arrest beat.

I always liked BMW wagons so M3 wagon for me on this one.

3GT and 4GC are hideous IMO.

The poll was created before it was known that the 4 Series Gran Coupe would also be a hatchback.

And anyway, even with the hatchback, the GC can't match the other two in terms of practicality due to it having neither the two box design of the wagon nor the longer wheel base of the GT. It also lacks a proper three passenger rear seat. Not that I am saying the GC isn't a great form factor for what it is intended to be.

It shouldn't be long before we see a custom/home-brew F81 and, for that matter, a custom F84. We might even see a custom M4 GC too (can't call it an F86 since that's an X6 M).
