Anyone know this car?(looking to possibly buy)

Wondering if anyone knows this car or knows about it's history. Looking to get a PPI done on it in the next few days but it always helps to know the full history. Got a little bit of info from mdecoder and car fax, but it doesn't tell me much about it. FWIW, I'm in Austin tx and would be flying out to collect the car, otherwise I'd go look at it myself.

DCT, Carbon Ceramics, base Carbon Structure seats? 1st owner on CarFax was BMW corporate.

It sounds like a previous BMW performance driving school vehicle. Not an instant deal-breaker if you can get a great deal but keep in mind it was probably thrashed for its first 3-4k miles of life.

Good luck replacing those ccb. Those are expensive and unnecessary for road driving.

If used as a daily driver, CCB rotors will last the life of the car. Change front pads every 100k miles rear every 125k miles and the actual running costs with CCBs will be far less than that of the standard brakes.

One of the great benefits of CCBs is that they produce no brake dust! This is a great deal since the F8x produces a disgusting amount of brake dust in standard form. There is also literally no brake fade, when logging and doing a bunch of 60-130mph pulls and hard braking, I can do them repeatedly over and over again, back to back and the car stops amazing every time with no complaints from 130mph, no fade and rock solid.

Lastly, even if you don't track your car, CCBs can definitely have benefits when it comes to daily performance. CCB rotors weigh about 33 pounds less than the standard M3 iron rotors which is a HUGE amount of rotational mass saved. That's like taking off 8 pounds per rim, anybody who switched to lighter rims/tires will tell you the car will definitely feel livelier, accelerate and brake better.

I love my CCBs, one of the best options in my car.

Very true. I would avoid. It was like a rental where you know it was pushed hard every single time.

I don’t think it’s a BMW performance school car since it was originally registered in California. But it’s had 3 owners so I would be hesitant about that.

BMW performance school cars in SC are registered in NJ because that’s where BMW NA HQ is. Why would Thermal cars be any different?

Who knows. Just stating a fact that there is a BMW Perf School in CA. There is a BMW office in So Cal and it could have very well been registered in CA.

Would have been perfect if it was 6MT. White, 6mt, cloth seats, CCB would be something people will look for in the future.

Possibly, but I doubt it for a couple reasons:

Comp Package badges were probably added, this isn't a comp car (non-comp seats) were the 2015's even available with the Comp Package?

No door storage wear from the walkie talkies

Strange wheel caps, aftermarket?

Really dig the spec. Carbon structure is something else, and CCBs are a sight to behold, seems like the ultimate car............Only if it had 6MT
