+1..... If you are willing to spend a bit more cash, these are nice. I had been eying these for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. I take them with me to the track to use with my E46 M3 track car too.

What model do you have? I'm looking at BL-3500SLX. Any advice appreciated.

I got the 5000SLX w/12VDC power supply which will lift 3 of the 4 cars in my garage (the F80, the E46 and my wife's F25 X3). I considered getting the 7000EXT to handle my Ford Expedition EL as well, but decided against it based on the notable weight difference of the frames and I wanted to maintain max portability when I take it to the track (76 lbs each vs 101 lbs each for the 7000EXT model).

The F80 (and most BMWs after the E30 and the Z-cars) are at the high end of the weight limit for the 3500SLX. Also, IIRC the length of the 3500SLX will not work with the jack points on most of the newer BMWs (I don't have my original measurement notes handy when I did my original research on it).

well, tbh I'm trying not to think about the deals I'll have to make with Mrs. Poiseuille in order to pull this off.

How is the clearance with the 5000SLX; does it work on a lowered F80 and/or your lowered e46? Also how loud is the compressor compared to maybe the initial fire up sound (start up roar) the F80? TIA

I've been looking at the Quick Jack for at least 2 years since I found out that one of my friends has one. I currently use the RaceRamps mentioned above, which was my lower cost alternative. I use them to change the oil and I backed my car onto them to install the MPE.

The Costco price is a great deal! Amazon sells it for $1,825 with free shipping! ECS Tuning sells it for $1,385. Quick Jack sells it for $1,375. The Costco price saves $276 or about 20%.

Make sure that you read all of the reviews on the Costco site. Some people have had issues with quality control and required replacement parts before it would work correctly, although apparently the QuickJack customer service is great.

I found this YouTube video of someone using it with an F80:

The biggest drawback is storage. Where do you keep it when not in use? I could be pulling the trigger on this today.

Some people have built jigs on their walls to wall mount them, while some just push them together on the floor and just drive over them (not sure if there is enough clearance for some of you guys on here) and leave them there and store the compressor somewhere else.

Clearance on my F80 is no issue as my F80 is not lowered (just like the car in the video). No issues with the E46 either even though it is lowered. As far as the compressor noise, it is not loud - you get an idea from the video as well.

As far as storage, I leave mine on the garage floor and park my E46 over them. Plenty of clearance. I store the power unit/compressor under my work bench, next to some of my other tools. For power, since I have the 12VDC unit, I bought a portable jump starter battery.

Here is a pic of the frames under my lowered E46 M3. The second pic is a wide shot of my E46 M3 to get a sense of how much it is lowered. I still have a few inches of clearance.

My wife was just browsing the Costco site and pointed this out to me. That's a good sign, right? She's seriously thinking about it, glad I didn't pull the trigger three weeks ago!
