In the month I've had the car, the weather widget has been very intermittent.

Same here on my M3. Our X5 is also having the same issue. I read about the problem on the X5 forum http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1097913. One guy just had the new firmware installed and his works fine. I wonder if we all need to get an update.

This widget fiasco must have been an embarrassment for BMW genius who ran that program, so now they pulled the plug on it altogether.

More than half the time over the past month, I would get "no connection" error from the BMW Connected screen when attempting to select a widget (thank you AT&T service)

Then when it did get selected, data would not update for days on end, or show wrong town, or go back to "no data available" mode.

BMW must have finally gotten sick of you'all complaining, and replaced that fiasco with the stupid analog clock. I can't even have a clean digital clock anymore ... smooth ...

same exact issue here...was working fine the past few weeks after the initial outage, and now i have that clock

I think this analog clock is a default plug for the widget panel, so it pops up whatever widget you've selected. Eventually they will return widgets back, hopefully updated version...

Same here. That clock is horrendous. Guess I'll put the map on the split screen or something. I wish you could put the HP and TQ readings over there.

Same thing on my i3, widget weather was been in and out for a few weeks, worked this morning, and tonight, the clock, and can't change it.

It was actually posted to BMW's internal dealer website, so any dealership employee who at least browses it weekly should be aware of the issue and be able to answer customer questions.

This is 100% false.

First of all BMW Genius has nothing to do with the weather widget or BMW Online. They are services provided by third parties and are not controlled by BMW or BMW Genius. BMW did not pull the plug on the widget either. When the car can't connect to the weather server, it switches to the analog clock. BMW has stated that they are working with the supplier to restore stable functionality ASAP. No ETA on a fix though.
