M Head Up Dispay on the M3?. ... ..... Absolutely YES. It's one of the best options on the car.

I just happened to have in on the last three BMWs I bought: X5m, X3 for wife, and F10-550i. The M-Hud is pretty cool and the regular HUD is cool (kinda) but even better when you use the navigation and you know how far the next turn is. I'm already wanting the Exec pack because if I'm getting the leather and want the comfort access (a must) then I may as well get excited about the other options.

I'm even willing to give up Polarized sunglasses for it.

BEST part of that HUD on the M is the Tach meter which will not be there when you get a manual transmission.

I have asked a dealer if I could get HUD as a stand alone special order. They in turn asked BMW Canada that replied that they are not willing to brake HUD away from the Premium package .

So if I want HUD I need to pay $3000 extra (I am ordering extended leather, so $4500-$1500=$3000) for a bunch of other gizmos I don't really want. Sad, but I guess I will skip HUD this time around.

So in a nutshell, yes it is pretty cool. Especially when you're using the navigation system. However, when you're in a performance-driven car such as the M3/M4, the driving experience itself should keep you happy enough.

My 2 cents.
When will you replace your 2013 C63 with the new 2015 M4?

I'm probably never going to "replace" the C63. It has been a joy to drive thus far.

I might add the F80 to the stable at some point though. I've always just leased my cars but since this car has one of the last great NA V8 motors, I might buy it out at the end of the lease and keep it.

If it's anything like the HUD in a 535d, then there will be a button near the driver's door to toggle the HUD on and off.

HUD on the F8X is controlled via i-Drive. That's where you activate/deactivate HUD.
