Latest member of the F80 club

It's finally here!! Coming from a 2014 APR Stage 2 Audi S4 and was ready for my next daily.

Took a couple of weeks to arrive, however it was worth the wait.

Here's the details:

2018 M3 Comp DCT
Black Sapphire Metallic/Black Interior
Full Leather
Driving Assistance and Exec Packages + some other bits (blindspot, etc)
PPF applied to all forward facing surfaces + rock prone areas

Came in filthy off the truck, but she washed up real nice. No mod plans at this point, but I'm sure that will come. Crank Hub Bolt capture for now and general maintenance while I learn the car. The rear end is certainly something to be respected with TC off.

Congrats and welcome.

I know you want to keep it stock for now, but since you mentioned the RWD behavior look into having some coding done. The GTS rear diff coding will definitely help the rear end feel more planted, kubax86 is awesome to work with if you decide to have some updated software flashed to the car.

Absolutely gorgeous.... but it needs some spacers

Can I ask why the CBC (unless you plan to mod)? Don't want to ignite the firestorm that is SCH fury, but haven't heard much in the way of stock motors spinning 'em and it seems overly expensive/invasive...

Thanks and agree on the spacers.

The capture is just the bracket that bolts on over the pulley - I don't plan on doing the full replacement unless I start tuning.

Figure for a couple hundred $$ it's cheap insurance.

Congrats - looks great. Hope it's what you expected.

So - I noticed your Audi was lowered. As reference, while it took me an entire day to do my S4...the bimmer only took about an hour and a half...moving slow. It's an easy thing to do if you wan to ditch that front wheel gap.

Thanks - it's striking how different it is than the S4. Some daily comfort tradeoff for extra fun factor. I suspect I may wind up adding something like the E-tron in a couple of years and make this a weekend car.

I'll absolutely look to do a conservative drop - the wheel gap is pretty striking. Will have to start searching through the forums for potential options. What did you go with? How do you like it?

So - I went ultra conservative. Eibach, which is abount a .8" drop in the front - and .5" drop in the back. Any lower for me...and I'll be scraping bottom everywhere. (front lip is scraping things as is)

Most lowering springs like Emmanuele Design or Swift are about 1.2" front, .9" in the back, about between what we saw with the H&R OE sports and super sports on the S4. While it looks better - it's just not happening where I live. I suffered enough with the 1.5" drop with the Audi.

For the 666m wheels - this looks good enough. And still retains and OEMish appearance. I just wanted to take out the front wheel gap anyway

That's exactly what I'm after as well. That's the V1?

I did V2. 1/4" more drop in the back. V2 is specific between M3 and M4, they are all a little different.

V1 may be better for you, but .2" more in the front wouldn't be bad. I don't know what would happen if you put the M4's in the M3. Never heard of anyone trying.

V1: E10-20-031-09-22 -> 0.8"/0.2"
M3: E10-20-036-01-22 -> 1.0"/0.5"
M4: E10-20-037-01-22 -> 0.8"/0.4"

Welcome! I also came from a B8.5 S4. Still miss the whine from the s/c from time to time. Then I mash the pedal and it brings a smile from ear to ear

Welcome! Former B8 S4 owner here! Had the whole Revo/Bilstein/AWE Exhaust setup. Still can't compare to the stock M3, though I do love that supercharger.

I see people are recommending springs, but depending on how long you plan to keep the car (and on after market springs) and condition of local roads, you may end up needing to replace your shocks. if you do intend to keep it long term but looking for a mild drop, then there's the MS HAS which Ive read is great and works well with the stock shocks.

Thanks so much all - Mild drop: Yes, absolutely. I'm mostly after killing the wheel gap in the front, but want to be high enough where I don't have to constantly worry about scraping.

That'll be a project for later this winter - ultimately I want to drive it around stock for a while and really learn the car. Every minute of seat time reminds me of how different it is from the S4.

Welcome. I came from a 8V S3 and don't miss it one bit. The input lag was a killer for me.

Same as my car but black interior. The nose on these cars is easy to scrape. My car was optioned with the front splitter and I would highly-recommend getting one because it will take most of the abuse and it simply isnt' that expensive. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...RoCDm0QAvD_BwE

Thanks so much for the link. I refuse to pay for the M carbon splitter, since I know it will get smoked over time.

The early mod list continues to grow
