That's a great shot, love the depth of it with the other car blurred in background.
.... And a real pleasure to meet @NYG himself at Lightning, despite the crappy weather. A good guy all around. Hoping to meet other forum members down the road as well.... |

Some weekends I drive one car on Saturday and a second on Sunday at the track.
It’s fun but this shit really throws me off, especially when I catch wild slide on Saturday. Sunday I’m usually a little slower. Let’s throw the M2 seats in here.

Accidents suck, take mental and physical tolls. Bike crash destroyed my shoulder a few years back. Had to completely revise my approach on a number of things, but especially speed. Went from trying to set pb's to just enjoying the ride for a period. Track allows for a similar mindset shift. So much there to enjoy well within the limitations of the car. Lap times aside, how'd the R8 do? Stock? Looks sweet. 22's are arriving and they're a problem for me.

It's been a while since I've been in a naturally aspirated car but it's so satisfying. Few things that need work out of factory, as expected: Dampers/springs are a bit soft, I think the front end may have progressive springs and rears linear. I have to take a look again. RWD has fixed dampers with no magneride. There's also an obvious rear bias for down force. My buddy is struggling to get an allocation so if you can do it, I'd tell you to jump on it (just don't pay over sticker). Edit: Forgot to add, the stock brakes are exceptional. One of my favorites! Very technical. 18 turns with plenty of elevation changes. It's like a roller coaster. You can rent the track with support staff so cheaply!

It was a great day with minimal traffic! Only 10-12 cars per group and after lunch only 3-4 cars.

Absolutely love the car and confidence keeps improving with every track day so I'm pushing the car a bit more but still not fully at the limit. The acceleration from 90+ mph is wild. Suffers from the same issue that my F82 had though, the suspension just isn't track focused. Trying to decide if I want to put the R8 LMS 3-way suspension on it.

For this last event, Hawk DTC70 front/DTC60 rear with SRF. Nothing else. First time using Hawk pads and I ended up getting them because the R8 uses 4 pads for each caliper so I had to buy double Ferodo/Pagid/etc to do a full swap. The price was like 4 figures for pads that I'm used to which is ridiculous. Hawk actually made a set for the Huracan/R8 calipers and were priced better than a single set of Ferodo/Pagid/PFCs. Without value bias, their performance is exceptional too - I genuinely like them more than any Ferodo I've ever used.
The pads might be a little too aggressive for the springs, front end dives under threshold braking from higher speeds and the weight transfer loosens the rear a bit. |

From that day - you can tell what a vagina I've become after the Z06 crash judging by TC being on and how slow I'm going into corners but @jfritz27 saw me running PTSD 2:23s on my first event with the car so this was a big milestone for me. |
