What mods did you find overrated and underrated?

I felt a difference in top end, but I'm also running full E85 @ 24psi so that is to be expected.

Yes mine though seem to be pretty closely matched and admit were one of my 1st mods...as the orange just contrasted with the Shakir Orange overall paint IMHO.

Overrated: rear bumper reflectors. I might swap back to the oem red tbh. The painted fronts are awesome in comparison, even with the paint not matching well at all.

Underrated: I really considered not getting the windows tinted at all, but after doing it I realized how much a GOOD tint does for keeping heat out of the interior. I did Suntek CXP vs the Carbon, etc and it was noticeably different.

I'll also admit that I had the SSR 4-pin crank hub done and it's done a LOT for peace of mind. Obviously the car doesn't feel any different but it's a load off to not have to worry about that one aspect failing on me.

Went a slightly different route with rear bumper reflectors also; found hexagonal ones from IND and color matched pretty well and definitely better than the black ones car came with. No match there whatsoever.

Yes had BMW before on many cars and no CEL issues. Previous 2015 M3 I did do the AWE CF Airbox system and nice but aesthetics mostly I think. Some intake noise but costly.

God I have such a problem with disassembling half of my 45,000 mile near new engine and dropping $4000 on it. I want to use the 4k to make power not fix BMW fuck-ups.

Sorry for venting, this is my hate for BMW right now; why the hell does this issue exist. I love the S55 power! and love my M4.

Understandable, but at least you didn't just drop $90k on a new G series M, and before you take delivery already have a main bearing recall.

Why you never buy first generation. Sounds like a lot are cancelling their orders.

Cup 2 on track lifespan
Underated
vorshlag camber plates - massive improvement in turn in and front end grip
BM3 stage 1 - excess power for such little cost
Mode design exhaust tips - look great without being OTT. make stock look wimpy

Most certainly the carbon lip. For what little money and time it takes to install, it transforms the front of the car. Didn’t notice it till i had mine installed but i couldnt see myself without it on the car now that its on

This might be the most overrated performance mod. As shown in the Kies Motorsport video, the oem TMIC is better than the CSF one which costs a mind blowing $2k.

Not surprising… you probably have an entire division working on vehicle cooling/design at BMW M but only one engineer designing an aftermarket cooler.

Surprised they never caught it as part of their performance testing, but then, maybe it was never published because the data wouldn't support the need to upgrade from OEM. Just a wild guess.
