The Bavsound Messing Metallic / Nutmeg Brown Individual 2016 M3
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com First and foremost, apologies for the teaser, we don't like them anymore than you guys, but we couldn't help ourselves. The good news is we have some great photos to share with you today, and the story of how we ended up with the car you see below. For those of you who don't know who we are, we are Bavsound, formerly Bavarian Soundwerks (BSW). We have been in business and for 11 years and part of the community for far longer. We brought the first completely plug and play speaker upgrades to the BMW community. We also just released our brand new underseat subwoofer replacements and have plug and play amplifier upgrades out now as well. All of the upgrades we do our driven by our love for both BMWs, and passion for music. As many of you are aware the factory sound systems in BMWs, even with the upgrade options leave quite a bit to be desired, which is a shame given how good the rest of the car is. We aim to fill that void and firmly believe the you don't have to compromise on audio to enjoy the driving characteristics of a BMW. You may be asking what does any of this have to do with an individual order F80, a fair question. We are currently setting up our dealer network across the United States and had to build a car that not only would allow JK our frontman for wholesale to make the drive, but do it in a car that expresses Bavsound. After much deliberation we put in an individual order of Messing Metallic over Nutmeg Brown extended leather. We went with the White Ash woodgrain trim which matches with the white contrast stitching on the seats and door panels and provides a nice contrast to the interior. It has a different palette feel than most M cars, but we feel it represents us well; elegant yet still very present. This will be a demo car for us and attending major shows on the west coast, as well as touring the country to our dealership network. While we do intend to tweak it to our vision, as will be putting a serious amount of miles onto this car and enjoying it to it's fullest, the modifications will remain simple and tasteful. We already have acquired our first batch of parts and will be sharing our progress with everyone as they go on. The first couple are of course our Stage One speaker upgrade and highly anticipated ghost underseat subwoofers. Look for those updates from us over the next couple weeks. Expect a lot more from us soon. The first of photos come from the night we picked it up. While initially we thought deciding on our color combination and options would be the tough part, we only realized the real struggle in what turned out to be a nearly 6 month wait. It had started to feel like our F80 was never going to show up with delay, after delay moving our expected date further back each time. We finally got a call late-afternoon in November that it was ready for pick-up 3 days earlier than the most recent promised date, and couldn't help but run over to snag it that night. It was quite exciting as both the exterior and interior choices were made "blind". We had never seen the color in person, so we had to trust our gut instinct and google images that it would work as well as we thought it would. We are of course beyond pleased with how it turned out. Messing Metallic is a really dynamic color, having a grey undertone containing a touch of blue, with a green mid tone, and very apparent gold highlight when reflecting the sun or other bright light sources. It is also referred to as Brass Metallic and it's easy to see why. It's truly is a color that needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated, although we have done our best to showcase it. We had a very talented photographer take some stock photos of it to document the car as it came from BMW. We couldn't be happier with how the color combination ended up working together, and are very excited to share the experience of building the car into our vision with you. Hope you enjoy the photos! A quick follow up to my own comments last week....it is REALLY good! It's brilliant actually, that colour really suits the M3 and the Nutmeg is a perfect compliment. Kudos to whoever picked this combo but more pics of the interior please. Outside in the sunlight preferable
