I don't have much experience with aftermarket seats so please excuse my ignorance but I have to ask even though I think I know the answer based on the pics and the some info online. Are these seats fixed to the floor or can you slide them forward/backward? I rarely have rear passengers in my car but I carry my track tires in the backseat. Bucket seats already limit the backseat access due to their fixed back but I'm hoping at least I can move them forward when I need to load/unload the car.

Slider is an option with virtually any aftermarket seat.

Component arrangement from floor - up:

Floor mounts --> Slider --> Side mounts --> Seat

Resurrecting this thread. Lots of good info, OP. I wish I discovered this thread earlier as virtually no one seems to have knowledge about FIA vs ABE. I’m looking to get Pole Positions for my daily (no track) and wanted FIA because of the tighter fit for my body type. As mentioned, there’s the seatbelt issue. So I’m relegated to ABE sourced from Europe. Luckily, there’s a well known vendor from Germany on eBay who stocks them pretty cheaply aside from the shipping charges. Real leather/suede isn’t an option on them so I’m going with the pleather/velour and saving a few hundred bucks in the process. I’m looking forward to a cockpit like feel and significant weight savings the PP offers.

I initially was going to go that way with the same eBay supplier and get either the fiberglass or carbon ABE Pole Positions. Found a local upholstery shop that could re-do the seats in any color leather I wanted with the stitched M stripes to boot.

However, I am too tall for the Pole Positions to work with 6 point harnesses, so went a different direction (OMP WRC-R).

That said, I think you are on the right track with buying ABEs from Germany and retrofitting. I would probably not use the OEM Euro GTS mounts (+ 6 point belts and harness mounts), as they are very expensive compared to aftermarket setups.

BBI Autosport makes an all-encompassing bracket/side mounts/sliders unit designed specifically for Porsche cars with Recaro, Sparco, and Racetech seats costing $400 each. Whoever said modding was cheap had too much money to begin with .

Ah, had the M4 GTS on the brain and was going to recommend Brey Kruse, but Porsche has way more potions when it comes to track parts.

Yes tanik. Thanks for the group buy offer but I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow probably. It does suck not being able to test sit them but talking with others, as long as your waist isn't over say 36-38" and you're not well over 6', they fit really well. I'm 32" and not concerned at all about them being too tight.

Got it! Its actually not a group buy in the tradition sense. It's a BMW website that has discounts for people that sign up...I just totally forgot what it was called hahahah. I think the same recaros were like 80 bucks off. XKxRome0ox can you chime in? I forgot that group buy discount site website.

I've had my eye on the euro GTS seats for a while now. Why is it every time I start considering something a thread or sale pops up. BBS FI-Rs, OEM GTS hood and now these dang seats. Come on 😂

I would be shocked if they accommodate 6 point harnesses for anyone much over 5'10" though.

I comfortably fit laterally (32" waist here) and the seats are supportive, but the harness holes are way, way too low for safe operation.

I firmly believe the slippery slope begins right after purchase (sometimes before) of any performance vehicle.

I've heard the same. Luckily I'm just a lowly d-bag street racer needing only a standard 3 point belt.
