Michelin Cup2 for M3 comp
hi
apologies if this has been debated before but i cant seem to find an answer. i want to go to MC2`s on my M3 comp and not sure if i can keep the 20" or will need to go to 19" at the front. if so could i keep the 20" 666 on at the back and just get an extra set of 19" for the front for track days? |

The 19" front wheels reduce understeer and maximises corner speed resulting in faster lap times when driven at the limit of adhesion and it's the reason the CS and M4 GTS have 19" front wheels. 20's don't effect the rear.
20's are ok on the front but ultimately 19's are potentially faster. Ideally a set of 19" wheels and R spec tyres for the track would be good and use the 20's on the street. |

You could do that. Or do what I did and get N1 spec 245/35/20 for front. They are wider than standard 265 MPSS. I run camber plates with them so am perhaps dialling out a little inherent understeer.

It'd be likely that a square set of 19x11's with 295/30x19 Hoosier R7's if they'll fit on the front would produce the fastest lap times for a track setup. |

If you're going to get a set of wheels for track days, i.e. are ready to swap wheels etc, then I'd suggest getting 18" wheels.
Besides the fact that tyres will be cheaper, you also get a wider range and in particular the A050 don't come bigger than 18". They're the tyres you want for track days. Personally I run a track setup (wheels, tyres, pads) and then switch back to road. Preserves your road tyres, and ultimately when you start wanting to go faster a single road&track combo setup just won't fit your needs. |

Still waiting for Goodyear supersport r - they are in our 666m sizes, and initial tests show slightly better than cup2. Local link : https://gyracing.com.au/eagle-f1-sup...t-rs/#register
