Frozen Paint Factory Defect - VIDEO
Hi Everyone,
Recently took delivery of a new Frozen Blue F80 M3 CS. I noticed some issues with the paint that ended up being a defect from the factory. BMW was super helpful in fixing the paint issues. Here is a video of the frozen paint defect + repair. Be sure to share this vid with anyone you know who has Frozen Paint in case they find the same issues I had with my car. |

Whoops - meant to post this in the General BMW section as it would probably be more useful to any model w/ Frozen Paint. If a moderator could please move that would be appreciated

Wow thats a lot of work to correct that. And its awesome they sent you over 2k of carbon fiber goodies for the few months you were without the car. Did they cover any payments during that time period?

Chances are, he would have been treated like dirt if this had happened 15 years ago. With today's social media outlets like YouTube people have a voice and can really damage large companies reputation, and rightfully so. I remember Nick Murray had problems with his brand new Porsche which were way way worse than this guy. Porsche was giving him run around for months until they finally agreed to take the car back.

To answer some of your questions:
Yup, it’s one of those crazy reduced M3 CS lease deals so I’m not worried about the resale/carfax per the paint work. It looks good as new so I’m happy. I’m just busy having a blast using this as my daily driver. I wonder if this would even show up in the carfax? If anyone has a carfax account let me know and we could check I told them either take the car back and give me a great deal on a new X5 or fix the issue + compensation for the time I’ve been without the vehicle. They opted for the second option of fix + compensation. The compensation worked out to be either one month worth of car payments or $2K in M parts. I chose the M parts and sent them my wishlist. |

What all my friends thought they’d say too. So yeah bmw stood by the customer on this one so I was very pleased. With this being my third bmw from the same dealer I’m happy they made things happen w/ BMW NA.

Cool to see the clean white underbody paint.
Curious if it did hit Carfax, maybe post the vin and let someone run it. Have BMW swap out your tires for Cup2s |
