NY & NJ front mount plate install

Guys, I'm picking up my first used M4 in the next few weeks and wanted to avoid drill for the front plate install requirement for NY/NJ.. what are my options here for this? Show me your installed front plate holder's, any wind noise for the angled tow hook mounted plates?

I get pulled over instantly in Brooklyn without a front plate.

I use a Carbonio, it's outstanding!

i just got my f80 as well in NJ, did not want to take a chance, so order it from Skene, no need to drill hole in the front bumper, however, i did need to drill 2 holes in underside of the front bumper.

Keep in mind if you use a tow hook plate it will block your front passenger sensors. Every time you shift in reverse it will beep because it thinks your tow hook license plate mount is a obstacle

It gets quite annoying

Interesting. Mine is set in the same position as yours. Did you have to tune out the front passenger parking sensor?

Nope. Mine is also hugging the bumper pretty tight like a quarter of an inch ie not sticking out on passenger side.

OP - I don't hear any additional wind noise but I have AA midpipe installed so any subtle noise wouldn't be heard...

^ That kind of mount is it? I got a cravenspeed one from amazon that was supposed to play nice with the sensors and it does not. Wanted to play the no front plate game but I got pulled over for it in the first week of ownership

In upstate NY I've had no problems or even jersey( I'm assuming NJ cops cant give NY car tickets for NY laws?)

Last time I visited my parents on staten island I parked in the driveway one night and had a ticket for no plate on my windshield. He literally walked onto private property and gave me a ticket. Wasnt worth fighting as it was just 50 bucks . Bought a sto n sho mount and keep the plate in my trunk for when I need it

Sweet ride, can you take a pic of the plate mount holes, where you mounted and the angle? i hate to put it flat and get wind noise when losing the aerodynamics. Do you have the lighted /quick release model? possibility of bug/water and crap getting into the bumper opening?

Thanks for the pics, mounted as you suggested, but the sensor's are still going off, and the plate comes loose after a while? I don't want to strip the screws on this mount.. Plus do you have the size of the cotter pins? I lost 3 in my drive way bring to mount this plate holder.
They need to revamp this mount to be shifted an 1/4" to the right of the holder to avoid the middle front sensor.

+1 for the us mills with quick release. Mines only goes of sometimes when it rains but it's pretty solid.
Other options are the Sho N Stop plate.

I'm using (actually I'm never using it) a Carbonio plate holder. It's laying in the passenger's side front floor. Figure it's there if officer wants to be nice and tell me to put it on instead of ticketing me. Hasn't happened yet. And I'm rolling with 20% tint so can't say I'm not asking for it. IMHO front plates are stupid, wasteful and redundant, not to mention straight up ugly. Nice, well built plate holder (albeit expensive at $119) and does a great job when deployed.
